The following quote is wrong. Please disregard. He also doesn't know how to spell "snugly" correctly. :lecture

No. They're boxes that fit snuggly onto the product box and leave zero room for packing materials. They're fairly worthless.

I keep mine for some, and for others, not so much. A few of my first ones got caught in the rain while I was moving, so I had to discard them. Luckily, my art boxes were already inside, safe. So then I started throwing the ones I would get away. And now that I know we're moving next year, we've been keeping them again.

I personally throw away everything BUT the brown shipper box..
I'm making a ginormous fort. Pretty soon I will be invincible! :lecture

The brown shipping box is critical to the value of the collectible. Honestly I would skip out on the deal and wait for another that includes a brown Sideshow box.

do I detect some poorly crafted sarcasm? Yes, I believe I do...

The following quote is a matter of opinion I disagree with. Please disregard. He also doesn't know how to spell "snugly" correctly. :lecture

Fixed that for ya. And I spelled "snuggly" correctly. That box wraps tight around it and keeps it cozy and warm. Geesh, everyone's so nit-picky on here :pfft:

I always like to have the brown Shipping box. It helps a lot to protect the colored box and it doesn't take anymore space as they are basically the same size.

If you struggle to sell a statue, despite having a near-identical box to ship it in, then the value of the statue itself is in question. I doubt many buyers wanting the Predator Maquette EX would be bothered that the brown shipper box doesn't have SS written on it. So long as the statue itself is in great condition and comes well packed, I haven't come across a high-value collectible that didnt sell or that sold for less than the going rate because of lack of a ss-branded shipper.

Sometimes I buy a statue, and it arrives without the SS shipper (Spidey 1:1; Doom PF, my first X-Men v Sentinel 1 dio). Because of how much I wanted the piece itself, and even though the seller neglected to mention the brown shipper wasnt ss branded, I never emailed them. Just couldn't be bothered, really. Was the collectible well packed? Is the replacement shipper robust? Did the statue arrive safely? If so, I'm happy.

I've never really cared about SSC brown shippers. As many have already said, as long as your statue is protected in transit it shouldn't matter. But each to their own. If you only collect the shipping boxes then I guess it's important.... :lol

You hit it right on the head, as far as I'm concerned.

I have sold pieces only to rebuy them again (with the original brown shipper) because the one I had originally didn't have it. It's a must for me, unless the piece is so elite that passing it up isn't an option. And if that's the case, I'll buy it and resell it when I find one that does have the shipper. I'm just weird like that.

So I think to some (like myself) it does hurt the value by not having one. To most though, I don't think it affects much. When I sell pieces, I will have the occasional buyer ask, so I definitely think people look for that BUT most probably don't.
