FAIRFIELD — A 14-year-old accused of stabbing a young girl and her baby brother will be tried as an adult.

The teen faced a judge Tuesday afternoon in Superior Court in Fairfield. He is facing 15 felony counts, including several sexual assault charges.

The teen suspect looked scared and timid in court; crying as the charges were read. He only shook his head in the affirmative when the Judge asked if he was only 14 years old.

Prosecutors have decided to try him as an adult; if he is found guilty, he will face life without the possibility of parole because of Chelsea's Law. Chelsea's Law was signed earlier this year, and says anyone found guilty of a violent sexual offense against a minor will not get the chance of parole.

He was arrested Sunday night after cops say he broke in a Vacaville home, attacked a 13-year-old girl, stabbing her more than 30 times, then stabbed her 18-month-old brother who was sleeping nearby.

The victims' mother was not home at the time of the attack. The girl and baby are expected to make it, no word on their current condition.

His bail is set at $9 Million. His next court date is December 27th.

its pretty obvious imo that this kid will defn be found guilty of rape of a minor, attempted murder, etc, etc, so hes more than likely goin to jail for life. If somehow, one of these children passes away, does he deserve the death penalty? or does it not matter if one of the children passes away because its obvious his sole intent was to break into this home and rape the girl and when you stab someone 30 times, its pretty obvious you intend to kill the person. How shes still alive i have no clue. Its a whole different issue that another huge flaw in this state is they dont use the death penalty, but is there ever a situation that anyone could see it being used on a minor? Chelsea's law is great btw :clap. I have heard arguments for and against the death penalty of this very case...........

Good opportunity to restart use of the electric chair. Fry his ass. While they're at it, fry his ____ing parents too. They clearly failed. :monkey1

I would say take him out.

Whoa, Vacaville is only an hour away from where I live. I'm glad that girl and her sibling is alive.

That 14 year old, though, I say good riddance.

Fry the little SOB.

A minor will never be sentenced to capital punishment in this country. I've seen just as young with multiple counts of 1st degree murder that get life without parole, but they cuddle the little brats and hug em.

l believe in the death penalty. l don't think it's inhumane. this kid is a good example of when it should be used. but he will get life in prison instead.

If one of them died then yes fry 'em. But thankfully they didn't so life in prison is fine with me.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather thirty cents of my tax money go to frying a rat B______ like this than however much will be spent feeding him and giving him free medical care for the rest of his life.

hundreds of thousands of dollars from peoples tax dollars will help keep him healthy. l know doesn't make sense.
