It IS common knowledge that sunlight = BAD for statues right??

what about water (luke warm) ? Does it fade statues too?

Wet a soft rag with water and wipe down a statue and then look at the rag. It will have the color of the statue on it. Don't know how it lifts the paint, but it does. At least on teh one I tried this one and will never try again.

I'm pretty good at keeping mine away from direct sunlight, as you can see here.....

Wow, that's scary. Glad I've never used water on any of my PF's.

Eww, are her ****s in her lap? Given the alternative I hope so. Otherwise that boy may be the only man in history to be replused by ****s.

Damn, she's hot!

No, literally, temp-wise. Good gods, how can she look at herself in the mirror and think she needs more sun? That's right up there with the throwup disease.

Back to statues and figures: I always keep mine in the basement where there are no windows. I removed all the bulbs from the fixtures too. I put up two sets of black curtains that all must pass one at a time as they descend into the pit of awesomeness where they can view my gallery with night vision goggles.

You can never be too careful. In 500 years, do you want people to look at your collection with awe like they do the old castles in Europe, or do you want it in the thrift store bargain bin?

SilentSurfer's deep thought for the day--
One day Sideshow and Hot Toys will be no more, and this hobby will be long forgotten. I know, I know, it's hard to believe now, but there is a bright side. I won't be around to cry about it.

Stick to air cans and soft bristle brushes for dusting... water is the DEVIL! :emperor

What cracks me up though is that you can throw those 18" NECA figures in a sink full of hot water and dish soap, scrub the figure down and let it dry on a dish rack and it comes out dust free and the paint untouched lol!

I still have a few in my collection that I LOVE! Captain Jack, Hellboy and Willy Wonka :) Even have 18" Edward Scissorhands and Crow from McToys! I dumped all my plastic figures a couple years ago, but these guys had to stay :)

They're also the ONLY pieces in my collection that aren't covered in some way to protect against dust because they're so easy to clean lol!
