The film will be directed by Iron Man 3's Shane Black, with a script by Black and Monster Squad director Fred Dekker. Last week, Dekker dropped a strong hint that the fourth Predator film was imminent. He wrote on Facebook: "I cannot say where I was this morning, or what I saw, or what we talked about. But if you are a PREDATOR fan? One word: NO!"

I'm stoked that Shane Black is directing it. He has an impressive directing/writing history
and lets not for get he was Hawkins in the original Predator.

He did indeed. Midst shoot, to boot. However, his contribution wasn't big enough to warrant a writing credit. He also wrote Monster Squad, which was released the same year as Predator, with SWS creating its monsters. Also noteworthy is that Free Dekker directed that one, and he seems to be onboard the new Predator project.

Shane black eh? Can we expect him to "dial back the fantastic, and ground this one more in reality" like he did with iron man three?

Gonna wager the third act's gonna have a skinny white guy rip the predator mask of his head and scream " I am the predator! I have been all along!" or some such silliness.


TLDR
He made a mess of Iron man 3, expecting the same here.
