Awesome, I always wanted to experience Jedi Rocks in 3D :lol

I kid, I kid... 3D movies are fun as heck, so I'll be all over seeing my favorite series in 3D. Will this also happen for the prequels?

How the hell is James Cameron speaking out on Star Wars? If there is something I missed let me know.

I would assume that when George (via James Cameron) says Star Wars he means all the movies. But I would imagine the OT in particular. :dunno

If Lucas is sticking to his original plan, they'll release all six movies in consistant intervals (i.e., not all at once... and they could be months or a year or so apart from each other).

It'll take them a while to add Jimmy Smits and Ian McD to ANH and Qui-gon to ROTS and ROTJ. :monkey3

Cameron, Lucas and Zemeckis are the three most prominent filmmakers leading the charge for next-gen 3-D theatrical exhibition. So it does make sense that each other would know what the other has planned.

Lucas and Rick McCallum have been talking about Star Wars 3-D for years, so this is actually not news. Though it is cool to see Cameron mentioning it again here recently. It doesn't quite count as The Official Announcement, though. Trust me, that'll come from starwars.com

This is cool, but I'm sure a theater that can do this won't be easily accessible, time will tell. I'll get excited when I know I can experience it.

I know it's been in the works. I was taken back by Cameron mentioning it.

I've haven't had a chance to see any of the newer 3D films like Superman Returns, Harry Potter, etc. The theaters in Denver that show them are just a pain to get to and they charge about $12 to get in. But I've heard good things.

Well, it's not like Lucas said to Cameron: "Hey, go ahead and mention that STAR WARS is coming in 3-D too." It was probably more of him just expressing his excitement over the new 3-D ventures by dropping that name as well. Lucasfilm still has yet to officially announce it, but I'm sure it's coming before too long.

Wasn't there talks to also do The LOTR movies and King Kong in 3d as well?

If its just 3D I think you only need to have a digital projector. The crappy theater in my town upgraded a year or so ago and they can now show stuff in 3D.
