You underestimate Sidieshow Collectibles propensity for making quality 1:1 props like the T2 Endo, arm, plasma rifle, Hellboy samaritan, etc. I think SSC will get it. Look for news at C4.

I have to agree that SS has made some awesome props. Really I think it will come down to $$$$. Personally I think the helmets should have all be weather and Battle Damaged. If whoever gets the license does just that they will sell.

Well after the crappy Hunter Killer I bought, I've lost faith in their ability to make a ship or vehicle. Sloppy sculpting. Polystone works fine for PF's but is NOT the material of choice for everything.

MR's forte seemed to be in metal working... I don't think Sideshow even has the infrastructure to deal with metal working on that scale.

I don't think I really want Sideshow to start making props. It seems like it would divert away from the statues and 1/6 figures. Plus its not really their area so it seems a little strange to me. It seems to me their focus is on sculpting things and such as has been mentioned in the Indy thread about the body not being as good but the sculpts being better. So going into props seems alot like going into relatively uncharted waters.

You wouldn't happen to be referring to this Hunter Killer would you:

Well the CIV MR exclusives are no more and will now be sold thru the website. The MR booth is no longer too. The only things left are the Party/Force Combat.:monkey2 :monkey2

Well the MR CIV booth and exclusives are now no longer. The only things left are the Party/Force Combat. The Force Combat was moved to the party a week or two ago. Now we know why.:monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

Scaled wedge Helmet, Scaled Medal of Yavin, and 3rd that was going to be something more like the early products but we never found out what it was.

Also here is what left to get made that has not already pre-ordered.
Mara Jade Lightsaber Limited Edition

Shadow Trooper Helmet (CS Exclusive)

Luke Ep. VI V2 Limited Edition

Boba Fett Helmet Limited Edition

Boba Fett Helmet Signature Edition

The Studio Scale X-Wing they are trying hard to get done but can promise anything.

They must stop producing products Dec 31 2007 and then have until March 31 2008 to sell all the stock they have.

I imagine a big sale in 2008.

Two scaled pieces: Wedge X-Wing Helmet & Medal of Yavin.

There was also supposed to be a 3rd "surprise" exclusive, but obviously that's shot now too.

I don't see SS getting the license for the sabers and such, or at least not being the sole manufacturers of them. If anything, Museum Replicas or someone similar will get that.

It'll be sad to see MR bow out of the SW line, but hopefully there will still be some full size saber replicas available then and I can pick one up for a good price. *crosses fingers*

I wouldnt mind if they got the license for high end ships but I dont know how they could top MR Studio scales unless they could do something similar for under $500 each.

One thing they could do that I always hoped MR would make is a Holo-Chess board with all of the sculpted and articulated creature pieces. I would rather have a 1:1 Holo-chess board than the 1:6 table they are inexplicably making with no accompanying figures for a dio.

My Vader ROTJ LE arrived today. All I can say is WOW! what an impressive piece...It's been awhile since I picked up a new MR item. Im truly impressed with how this saber came out. I still cant believe I scored it for so cheap, the thing is pretty much brand new. the plaque hasnt even been touched and the mirrored base is still newly wrapped in the tissue paper. Amazing.

Now my Han Elite needs to get over here ASAP

Here is a lil update,

Mara Jade - On sale to CS members 6-13, general public 6-14

Shadow Trooper Helmet - Same as Mara Jade

Luke V2 - On sale to CS members 6/27, general public 6/28

Boba Fett Helmet SE and LE - on sale to CS members 8/1, general public 8/2

These are subject to change though.

Mark, I just got my Han Elite blaster, damn this thing is amazing! It has a working trigger/hammer and everything!

How is the ESB one? I might have to give in and pick one up now since they are going for pretty cheap.

I think it's also interesting that Hasbro recently bought out all of Lucasfilm's shares in their stock and basically forced them out. Lucasfilm had a 10% vested interest in Hasbro's stock to skim the profits from the company from the sale of Star Wars toys and now Hasbro has kicked them out. We are beginning to see a revolt against the Lucasfilm Empire and their greedy tyranny. I find it amusing and ironic.
I think we are. MR not renewing their license is basically down to money. Lucasfilm wanted to much, and MR just didn't think the cost were justified.

Rest assured this license is dead, there is no way MR will agree to the terms offered, and there is no way Lucasfilm will reduce it's demands, otherwise every licenseie will be looking for redued terms.

It's a shame, as anyone who has a FX saber will testify, there products are neat. But I think may well be the first of a few companies pulling out of the Star Wars market, as until Lucasfilm gets the live action series out (if at all), major companies will not pay a premium for a movie/TV product that has no current movie/TV series attached to it! While the cartoon will keep a certain amount of interest for companies like Hasbro, mainstream Star Wars is live action, and until they sort that out, MR could be the first of a number of compaines pulling the plug on Star Wars.
