I knew the Transformers movie made a ridiculous amount of money, but this:
The difference is most of the Transformers movie designs were mostly received well
is news to me. I know little kids loved them, but I can't imagine scores of reasonable people actually liking those ugly-ass jumbles of wires and parts. But I will be the first to admit that I am usually not a very good judge of popular sentiment.

Yea a lot of ppl like the new Transformers including ppl of our age and on this forum. :monkey4

The difference is most of the Transformers movie designs were mostly received well and the movies made TONS of money. ROC wasn't and while it did make some 300 mil world wide, it didn't light up the Box Office.

A Vagina Face Cobra Commander PF won't ever be made.

IF enough disdainful interest prevails . . . I'm sure a bootleg PF will emerge with a certificate of dis-authenticity . . . autographed by the stunt double of the actor who portrayed COBRA COMMANDER in the film.

except when the transformers were actually in the process of transforming I think the designs were pretty good. but during the transforming process it seemed there were way too many tiny moving parts.

In the movie or the actual toy or both?

nunchucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

TF movie designs blow. i can't go in the TF thread anymore cuz all they talk about are those crappy movies. can't believe so many people support that crap.

TF movie designs are terrible as are the Joe ones. MOTU is still the ranking cartoon-based movie design-wise as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, I would say they are much, much worse than the Joe designs...

I'd have to agree. Snake Eyes and He-Man look passable for who they are but Prime... Not a chance, especially not in Robot mode.

Mando, did your Wolverine figure arrive today?

Yes he did. Haven't been able to put it down. Got him some time during the Emperor PPO thread and when I came back to it there must've been 10 more pages I'd missed. :lol

The first time I did see the new Prime, I couldn't make out his face.. :monkey4

:rotfl Doesn't he have like six eyes? I'll admit Prime is my favorite of the movie designs although the competition is non existent. But he does have less of the whires showing and more of the cab, but in reality the only thing Prime about him is the Peter Cullen voice.

Moving right along...

Got a funny feeling we're either going to see the first Joe PF or one of the completed dios (probably the Snake Eyes one) during these 12 days of X-Mas announcements. Would love a new 12" preview but I'm beginning to wonder if we'll see one.

Yup. With 3 in the pipe and one of those three due next month, I think we'll have to suffer until ToyFair (Feb) to see the next announcement with a preview coming in Jan. 'course, I'd love to be proven wrong. :lol

I think they said in a Q & A that we'd see Beach Head in early 2010 but I supposed they can still show any of the WIP's that they've already confirmed are in development (Zartan, Helmeted CC, etc.)

At this point we need a 12" Joe, not a Cobra, a Joe....

Agreed. We'll likely be getting the Sniper first, then Duke, who'll be followed by a Beachhead announcement and then Firefly. I wouldn't care if 2010 didn't see any Cobras (aside from the inevitable Trooper variant) as my display is looking a bit lopsided anyway. :(

:lecture I don't even have all the figures released in this line yet and I'm still a little bugged by, as you put it, the "lopsided" look of my shelf.

We need Stalker!
