As much as I love Star Wars, I'm looking at this line and comparing the two and seriously reconsidering adjusting my priorities.

I think therein lies my issue. Boba Fett, Tarkin, Yoda, Chewie and the Droids are really the only figures left that are must haves for me in the SW line.... Indy, at least in the short term, is dead :monkey2 so there's no real reason to not go full bore on the Joe line.... I'm really just figuring out where I want to put my money going forward.....

Plus, spending 10 minutes with the tittybabies in the SW thread really saps the fun out of collecting when they start _____ing about Stormtrooper teeth, Clone aerators, Greedo vests and ____ like that.

that's why no one knows that I have a SW collection :lol

I'm normally in the custom SW section.... The work the guys are doing over there is pretty awesome... As for the regular section, I just can't take another "what if HT did SW?" or "why is Vader's tusk black?" conversation....

This is exactly how Sideshow should handle the G.I. Joe line: always have four figures "on deck": we have Duke, Firefly, Flint, and Beachhead scheduled to ship. Once Duke ships, hopefully SS will gives us another figure announcement and pre-order.

I did the same already man, the SW line has just gotten boring for me, and this line is so much better. I had ppo'd every SW item that wasnt EU and I didnt even bother with Greedo, Ill get him at a later date.

GIJOE>>>>> SW

Lando slipped due to CC fraud and me forgetting to replace my CC # on Sideshow. I wound up getting Lando through an online retailer after canceling. After that, I missed the Phase 1 clone. Not feeling that big a loss (surprisingly) though I'll definitely pick him up on a later date. Anakin was a must but I just stared at Greedo. :lol No desire to preorder him.

So I think it might be time for a Viper. We need another troop builder. I hope we see one by SDCC.

I hope the next army builder is the Siegie instead of the Viper, and then I'm hoping for Cobra Eels and Snow Serpent!

Though pure speculation, I suspect that Sideshow is still trying to figure out the best/most cost effective way to create a high quality, shiny metal look on these figures before bringing out Destro, helmeted CC, and the Vipers. However, since Destro seems like the next logical Cobra, I'm hopeful that they've got something figured out already. Silver paint won't cut it for him, I'm afraid.

I wanna goddam Joe army builder for a change. :tap

So, what are the options there? Greenshirts and scuba-Joes from the MASS device cartoon? Way I figure it, the vast majority of non-Joe 1/6 scale military figure out there could be Joe army builders.

You could say the same about the Cobra Troopers. You can do any number of squad position elements and make them official Joe greenshirts.

Personally... They just don't work.

The Joes are a specialized team of individuals.. Individual personalities, skills, and uniforms.. It's what makes them the Joes in my opinion.

Cobra however is a ruthless, faceless, terrorist army. They need ID-less troops and cannon fodder.. and the designs are very eastern eurpoean / fascist in nature so it fits well.

Joes don't need no army builder.. They're Elite!!!! :rock

In both the cartoon and the comics, the Joes had green shirts. I always looked at the Face Joes as those experts who'd train the other faceless Joes in their field. You put out a regular Joe with enough specialized gear, and he'll not only appeal to the Joe fans, but standard military fans too. It'd also be a great way for them to sneak out all the original Joes.
