Mutants, aliens, and other monsters have no place in GI Joe. NO PLACE! Some robots are acceptable, however.
You sure about that?

I remember getting the go ahead to head down to the toy aisle when I was a kid one day and get any Joe I wanted. I was very dismayed that the only figure I didn't have at the small toy display at the grocery store was Quick Kick. I bought him of course, but even as a kid was very underwhelmed and he got very little play.

As an Asian kid growing up in a primarily white neighborhood, I gravitated to all positive Asian role models, real or imaginary. I think that's one of the reasons I like G.I. Joe so much. It was not only written by a Asian writer, but one who actually wrote well and breathed life and complexity into what could have become stereotypical cookie cutter characters. That's why my favorite characers were (and are) Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (Yes, I know who Snake Eyes is caucasian, but he was a Westerner accepted in Storm Shadow's family and trained in Eastern disciplines and martial arts).

However, I was ambivalent about Quick Kick. I wouldn't say I hated him, but to me he was unneccesary. Silent Weapons? Heck, that's what Snake Eyes is, literally and figuratively.

they could make Quick Kick look similar to the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra version. He is clothed except the arms
