Why not?

Granted, it's not the original rifle used with the original 3.75" figure. Based on the pictures, Sideshow's CG figure has the spirit and theme of the original figure, but updated a bit. I dare say almost a mercenary/PMC vibe and the KRISS so far appears to be a worthwhile fit.

Updated a bit? One of the best things about the Crimson Guards as well as the more memorable were their bayoneted rifles. Updated a bit would've been going with a new AK 200 series & bayonet. The KRISS, a U.S. manufactured weapon BTW, is jumping the shark quite a bit. It also loses the intimidation factor the previous rifle had. What's next? Give them a stub nosed .22 in place of their long-barreled revolvers?

I hope they don't go that route with the 12" figures. Sure it's as easy as buying replacements, but we shouldn't have to. Especially for such a notable accessory. It's the equivalent of replacing Snake Eyes' katana with a pen knife.
