What an odd request...

I mean, Viper and the Crimson Twins, sure, who wouldn't want them?... and I can even see Strato Viper, though Wild Weasel is probably the only Cobra Pilot we'd ever need in this line... but Sci-Fi and Cross Country? Who asked this question???

It might be interesting to see what they can do with Sci Fi... but if we're gonna have a laser trooper I'm sure we'd almost all prefer Flash. And really, Cross Country of all people to ask for???

Honestly, I'd almost certainly buy it... I'd probably only display it around Hallowe'en, but yeah, as a one-off, I think I'd be okay with that...

Looking forward to the Viper myself. I wonder how close Sideshow is to completion with him, and it probably bodes well for Battle Helmet Cobra Commander as well.

I wonder what real-world assault rifle Sideshow will give him? I say a ACR or SCAR matches the original fictitious weapon most closely, but it makes more sense that Cobra would be outfitted with old Eastern Bloc / WARSAW Pact weapons purchased from the blackmarket.

I'd love to see either of the two Joe SEALS (though I'd prefer Torpedo over Wetsuit) but I'd like to see them out of their diving apparatus and in operator gear. Unfortunately, this would probably be too far out for Hasbro to approve.

Wishful thinking, but Sideshow could go the Hot Toys route a la the DX Joker and include Torpedo / Wetsuit in their diving gear and include some alternate operator gear as well.

I loved this Michael Golden cover for G.I. Joe Yearbook #2 as a kid featuring Torpedo with the SAW (among others).

My argument is that as SEALs, both Wet Suit and Torpedo are more than just divers. In fact, before the assault on Springfield when the Joes are broken down in teams, Torpedo is part of the Assault Team (including Stalker, Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, Quick Kick, Recondo, Spirit, Beach Head and Leatherneck) that spearhead the assault. Hama wrote that the assault team were the "baddest of the Joes", and Torpedo was in regular BDUs.

Anyways, just me preferring the hybridization of old school RAH with the modern. I know most of you guys are traditionalists, for lack of a better word.

You're the bigger authority on weapons, 'Nam. Any guesses / speculation on what real-life Assault Rifle the Vipers would be equipped with? I reasoned that being a terrorist organization, Cobra would purchase older black market Eastern Bloc stuff. I'm not familiar with the newer weapons that a terrorist organization could prefer. I guess the Vipers could be outfitted with either an ACR or a SCAR, and it could be explained that MARS grabbed a couple and reverse engineered them.

Well, if they're fine with giving the Joe figures that cartoon laser rifle, I think they should just do up a 1/6 scale Viper rifle. It's realistic enough looking - put M.A.R.S. on it somewhere so we know why we haven't seen one before.

Seeing as how the cartoon rifle is an "extra", there's no reason they can't also have a newer model AK or something as well.

When can we expect to see a Destro or Croc Master show up in your G.I. Joe line? And in what scale/version?
Destro is a lock for a late 2011 (or possibly early 2012) reveal, perhaps in two different formats at about the same time. Croc Master doesn’t have any definite plan, not yet.
