Honestly we got teased so much with the Officer that I forget where to place him in the order. :lol But I knew the Sniper didn't directly follow Stormy.

Yeah, M.O. wasn't the right term. I mean rank/job title. Pretty much the words that go up the side of the box.

Flint can pretty much do it all though. If memory serves he's also a helicopter pilot.

I hear ya. I was just always a bit more (it's not the right term, but) "real world" with my Joes. Which is why I steered away from a lot of the brightly colored guys.

Warrant Officer
Code Name: Flint

:rock

Since Hawk is being painted as we speak by SilverSurfer, it might not be long before we see him offered.

The fact that Don Johnson condescended to play a GI Joe:ARAH character in such a cheesy cartoon (regardless of whatever he got paid) at the peak of his popularity was pretty awesome.

On the topic of Stalker and Beachhead potentially being released together too soon (though I have to reiterate / clarify, I personally don't think they'd be too close to together, only that Sideshow wouldn't release them so close - hope I'm wrong), the only military specialties / units that were doubled-up that I can think of are:

Rangers (Stalker and Beachhead)

Marines (Gung Ho and Leatherneck)

SEALs (Torpedo and Wetsuit)

I guess we can count Grunt and Footloose as well, because they were both deemed infantry.

Did I miss anybody?

Plus, I think we can classify Snow Job, Blizzard, Iceberg, and Avalanche all as Arctic Troopers, depsite having different classifications on the file cards.

Flash and Sci-Fi

Doc and Lifeline

Breaker and Dial-Tone

Ace and Slipstream

Wild Bill and Lift Ticket

Rock N Roll and Roadblock

Flash and Sci-Fi laser troopers.

Flash and Sci Fi, yes.

Doc and Lifeline, yes. Breaker and Dial-Tone, yes.

Ace and Slipstream...both pilots, so using my Arctic Troopers reasoning, yes.

Wild Bill and Lift Ticket, ditto.

Rock N Roll and Roadblock....semantics, but Roadblock was the Heavy Machine Gunner with the Browning 50 Cal while Rock N Roll had his "piddling" M-60.

Well, it's getting to be the holiday season and the end of the year, a time of retrospection. So let's review some G.I. Joe Ask Sideshow questions to see how on target the answers have been, eh?

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
Q: Any ideas on when we will see female G.I. Joe characters in Sideshow’s 12 inch-line? Any hints on who they may be?

A: You could probably guess who, but we expect that the first female figure(s) will be revealed within 2010 and released in 2011.

Well, we have a month for Sideshow to make good on this answer...but a subsequent Q & A just a little over a month later seemed to put the kibosh on this answer.

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010
Q: I love the female sculpts. Are there any immediate plans for Scarlett, Baroness or Lady Jaye for the G.I. Joe line?

A: Scarlett, Baroness, and Lady Jaye have all been designed for the 12-inch line, and we’re eager to start them, too. Development for these figures isn’t in progress yet – we’re finalizing a few details regarding the base female body first.

How about Sideshow's proclamation regarding the number of figures "released" in 2010?

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009
Q: Can you tell us how many 12-inch G.I. Joe figures we will see in 2010? Also, will we see Zartan and his Drednoks in 2010? I love Sideshow’s G.I. Joe 12-inch line! All have been perfect, and I cannot wait for the next one to be announced! I would love to see a hooded Storm Shadow.

A: The Joe line has been a big hit, and we are looking to increase the number of Joe & Cobra releases in 2010 and 2011. We can’t say exactly how many will see release in 2010, but the number is likely to be six or more. Zartan is in development but is several figures down the road in release order planning.

Amazingly, on target...with a caveat. Six were "released" in 2010 (if Sideshow defines "released" as being a combination of pre-ordered / shipped).

Shipped in 2010:

Duke
Firefly
Flint
Beachhead

Pre-order in 2010:

Dusty
Desert Ops Cobra Sniper

(Flint and Beachhead were pre-ordered and shipped in 2010).

The following are just confirmation on Sideshow doing Battle Helmet Cobra Commander and Version 1 / Commando Snake Eyes. Most of us knew this anyway, but I posted this so we can throw this is Sideshow's face should the two figures not come to be (I kid, I kid...)

Q: I love your G.I. Joe line and I wanted to know if we’ll be seeing more of Cobra Commander 1/6 or in Premium Format? And if so, will we be seeing a Helmeted version instead of hooded?

A: Most definitely, yes. Cobra Commander will next appear in the Diorama series, along with some of his elite. Yes, we will be offering a helmeted version of Cobra Commander in the future, including a new version in 1:6 scale.

Q: Will G.I. Joe 12-inch Snake Eyes get a re-release with an improved, beefier body? The Prometheus body that was used gave Snake Eyes a skinnier frame and some people changed their minds from buying this figure because of that, including myself.

A: Yes, and no. We are developing a new Snake Eyes 12-inch figure, but we haven’t yet decided which version of the Pro body he’ll have. We like that Snake Eyes is a bit less robust than Duke or Flint but agree that he could use a little bit more bulk this time around. This is NOT a re-release of the original Snake Eyes figure – it is an all-new version.

Q: I was very excited to learn that Sideshow will be developing a “battle helmet” version of Cobra Commander. Snake Eyes, like Cobra Commander, had two iconic facemasks/headsculps as well. What is the likelihood that a “commando” mask Snake Eyes will ever be in the works for the 1/6th scale?

A: Commando masked Snake Eyes is already in the works.

Sorry for the non-news, killing time at work before I leave for the holiday. Happy Turkey day to all.
