If this movie produces scenes any better than this classic Star Trek battle, then it will undoubtedly be a winner! :rock

I just got done with THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, and found it MUCH more enjoyable than TMP. Overall it was a decent flick, but for some reason, I'm genuinely troubled every time I see a Klingon. Any time one appears on screen, I'm immeadiately reminded of one too many unfortunate comic cons.

Go to a Star Trek con...you'll see all kinds EVERYWHERE.

Went into a Burger King in Pasadena, CA during the ST Grand Slam a few years back...some Klingons were there trying to order in Klingonese! :lol

The thing I find most funny about people who dress like Klingons, is the fact that they sully the good names of their favorite race of imaginary beings by almost always being OBESE. Damn near every Klingon I see at a con is overweight.

Just ONCE I would like to see a super fit guy dressed like a Klingon, just for it to be a true representation of the Warrior race. :lol

In space...no one can hear you get fat. :joy

I guess I just have a "code" for costuming... You have to represent the character you choose well. It has nothing to do with how much you may like a particular character or race, you have to be able to represent them well. I'm not thin enough for Freddy, so I don't dress as Freddy. I'm too chunky and fat faced to dress as Spock, so I don't. I just feel like if one wants to REALLY dress up and nail it... they need to fit the part.

Most of the Klingons I see at conventions are a DISGRACE to Trek fans.... Worf would be soooo displeased. :lol

Exactly my point

ST:4 was very much in the spirit of the lighter episodes of the original series like "The Trouble with Tribbles" or the Harry Mudd episodes.

It may not be as intense and dramatic as Wrath of Khan, but that doesn't mean that the occasional freewheeling romp hasn't had a solid place in Trek since the beginning.

I think it's just because I never saw the Star Trek movies as a kid and seeing that one now it's just way too ridiculous.

And I always feel embarrassed for people making fools of themselves.

I agree.

yesterday (or was it wednesday? lol) they had an interview with the group Warp Eleven on the radio.. I really need to pick up some of their stuff.

Just finished the Countdown series and I must say, it was better than I expected. It was great to show older characters and having them interact with the "current" timeline. Should be interesting to see Old Spock and Nero interact with the "past".

I must say, I didn't know anything about the film involving time-travel before I read this series, but it's really pumping me up for the film. I can't wait to see it.

I can't wait til next week...

but sadly, I probably won't be able to see it until Monday because I have to go to a wedding over the weekend =( (the groom [a trek fan] was also moderately upset when I reminded him what weekend the fiancee chose :rotfl )

Isn't it kind of weird that you have a lightsaber next to a phaser in front of a Star Trek poster?
