EXs are made to put more money in SSC's pockets. Sure you get some minor switch out piece but SSC offers no discounts on EXs to anyone. If they can sell 4000 EXs of Spidey they will. Just look at the Superman PF EX. They made more EXs of that than of the Batman PF EX even though Bats has a higher ES overall and is a more popular character. Why would SSC increase the number of EXs on Superman but decrease the number of Regs? They certainly didn't do it for the collectors.

On the flipside (pun intended) the ex do tend to increase in value and demand once they are sold out to a much higher degree then the regs do. SS is a business first. Whatever helps create the thickest margin while delivering a quality product is the core of every successful business

LOL! My name is Filip not flip. I agree with everything you say. I'm not hating on SSC for selling as many EXs as they can. They are in business to make a profit. I was simply trying to point that fact out to the member I originally quoted. His stance was that SSC needed to release smaller edition sizes on their EXs for their collectors to make these pieces truly exclusive. That's not how a business is generally run. A company is in business to maximize their profits. We would all do the same if we ran a business.

Yep. As I said, they are few and far between. However, when the ES is that low, a lot of fans will get left out in the cold. I think there could have been a happy middle ground. In the case of the white Storm PF they should have announced that it will go up for PO on Thursday and leave it up for 24 hrs and then pull it down without warning. That way every collector that wanted her could have had a realistic shot at POing her and the ES still would have been very low. Either way, they do give us those gems from time to time.
