Talked to J. Scott Campbell at Dallas Comic Con today and I told him how awesome I thought these statues were. It was cool to get hear him talk about how happy he was with how they turned out. He said he's really excited for people to see the Black Cat statue from this series that will be similar in design to the Black Cat print he signed for me.

That must have been an awesome experience! It sound like the print will make an amazing set with the statue when it comes out.

He didn't say when it would be announced. It's possible they are reworking the sculpt so it's not too similar to MJ. He inferred that it wouldn't be exactly like the litho. The Spidey ball of yarn is a cute touch though.

Wouldn't say her grinding on a ball of yarn to be categorized as cute but to each his own.

Thanks man. I really didnt expect it to be so great, especially cause I knew it was coming. But like Spidey said, it was unexpected (at least the way they did it. Part of me was expecring to see her open her eyes ;(

PERFECT! . I definitely prefer her on the ball of yarn as opposed to the crawling sketch so I'm hoping they didn't change their minds.

It is SO close to the MJ statue..if not the crawling pose I would like almost anything else, campbell said they didn't want her front hidden, so they didn't pick the crawling pose.
