I think as a standalone piece the reg is the way to go but with Gwen, MJ and Felicia all around him I think that EX Grin is fitting.

I'm dying for some In hand pics!!:panic::panic: This piece has gotten me back into reading Spider-man comics again.:cuckoo:

I hope they are very small comics to match this uber small comiquette. :monkey3

Good one. I for one couldn't care less about scale. I'm a Spider-man fan, period. Each piece needs to be judge on its own merit, IMO. If I had the choice between this one and the original one, I'd choose this one. The original one is a bit too 90s cartoon Spidey for me, whereas this one feels like the lanky, comic book Spider-man. The paint job is also a major reason I prefer this one. The matte finish is just awesome. And for all the people complaining this is too small, the original is too damn big. So they're BOTH a bit out of scale with other characters you want to display the him with. I for one won't let that ruin this statue for me.

Yeah! This is better because it's true 1:5 unlike the out of scale 1:4 attempt :pfft:

:monkey3

I am curious to see how I like this spidey set up with the other 1/4 scale marvel.... I would like to see if he looks like a "young Teenager" or if he looks like a small child lol....

I will day that the original comiquette drove me crazy because it was to big and did not fit in with some of my other pieces....

It looked great displayed by itself though.

Scale schmeel. The sculpt sold me (that comic book look:thud:) and I don't mind 1:5.
I have a mix of 1:6 , 1:5 and 1:4. I just want it to look like the proto with no QC issues.

Having seen Gwen near a few other 1/4 pieces I am sorry to say it could easily be the small child one. He will look amazing besides beasts or other 1/5 though.

I'll be the first to admit that 1/5 is my most hated scale (I hate the 1/5 Predator line) but this statue gets away with it. Not only is Spidey against a wall sprawled out but the base is quite large. I think this will go great with other PF's.

The community seems to think so anyway. I've not seen a statue with this size of edition sell out before release.

All I can say is this is going to be my one and only Spider Man collectible in my collection. Love spidey, never pulled the trigger on any other statue or bust.

Hey! A scale discussion...what a refreshing new topic!

If you like it, get it...regardless of the size and how it may or may not look next to something a different size. If it looks out of place next to 1/4 scale Batman, move it somewhere else.

I have a lot of 1/4 pieces but I also have plenty of 1/5 pieces. I've never had anyone ever say that they looked weird being in the same room. Appreciate the piece for what it is.

^This.

If you are a huge Spider-Man fan, you will probably regret not getting this.

All I read from that was 'Selling my 1/6 figures' :hi5:

ha ha....never really thought about that. But I'm not selling them because I don't like their size. I'm just tired of trying to pose them and not being happy with them. Futzing seems to be a skill I don't have.

It's Spidey. The same thing would happen with any of Marvels Big Guns. Not to mention, it's a nice looking sculpt.

I was in the same boat. For YEARS I had a HUGE hole in my collection because I couldn't find a single Spidey statue I liked by ANY company. When the original Com was released I knew right away that I was adding that piece to my collection. A few years later, the Koto Spidey unleashed statue was released and I was blown away with just how awesome that piece looked. I then had my 1/6 scale Spidey which I mixed in with my Bowen collection. I'm done. No need fro any other Spidey pieces (I also have SSC's BiB Spidey as well).

I hope the new COM turns out great for you. There's nothing like adding that piece you are totally satisfied with and knowing you'll never need another statue of that character. You just know that piece is special when it makes you feel that way.
