yup paid on the 10th no shipping yet....
Sorry about your troubles T! Although if i had to disagree with you on one point it would be the fingers brother. They are wicked spider like! Love it!
Oh its all good King. They really aren't that bad. I'm probably over analyzing just a bit. I tend to do that with statues. It's definitely not a make or break by any means. They just seem a little longer then normal. Hey you know what they about guys with big hands and big feet? Mary Jane knows what's up.
I'm still leaning towards keeping this. My main hesitation is I want to keep spiderman and all his attachments and just have the base replaced. Just terrified if I do that he won't fit into the next base that they send as perfect as this one. Then I'll be **** out of luck as I don't see SS sending me yet another replacement if the only issue I have is a small gap.... Oh the decisions we face as collectors! Real world problems yo
Well, I have faith it will fit. Just put in a ticket with them. Got a pic of said glob?
Well I wish I could report a perfect spiderman but mine arrived today with some issues. Spiderman himself was actually pretty decent. Couple small blemishes in the lines which weren't really all that noticeable and a paint glob other two but very small. I know it's hard to get the suit painted well. Has been for most companies that have released a spiderman statue. Because of the difficulty of the various lines in his costume. His foot does fit perfectly flush in the base which I was really happy about. The major issue I had was with the base. Whatever clear coat adhesive they used to put the wall decal on with has a huge puddle of something that was applied way to heavy and it looks really bad at most angles. I'd be completely content with this statue and the few small issues if it wasn't for the base... Still undecided as to whether or not I'm going to opt for an exchange or just send it back. I don't like making quick decisions on my babies so I'm going to leave him displayed for a couple days and see how I feel about it in a week or two.
On a more positive note it really is a nice statue overall. The paint doesn't look glossy in person like it's showing in pictures. It's definitely nothing like the prototype but I don't think the paint looks nearly as bad as others have stated. I think the shading in the costume was done rather well. I don't think he's too small like many have said. Up next to the original CQ he looks tiny but he can easily be displayed with several of the statues I own already rather nicely. Especially Venom and Carnage. In the comics Venom and Carnage always appeared to be huge in size compared to Spiderman and I think he stacks up rather nicely with those two. The only nitpick I have with the actual sculpt are his extended fingers. Elongated index finger is an understatement but still overall SS did a good job on the sculpt.
If your a collector that missed out on the original but would like a really nice looking spiderman to display with your collection look no further. This statue is for you. If you have the original (just my opinion) there's no need to drop the money on this one. The original is Defintely the undisputed Spider Man champion of my marvel collection. Just my personal preference peeps. I was really hoping that this version would wow me and I'd be able to part with the original to fund some upcoming releases but that ain't happening!
Well boys and girls. I have managed to dodge a possible QC nightmare/ bullet. It looks top notch and happy there were no smudges or major imperfections or damage. I am so relieved and will be keeping this. Here's on quick snap. I'll hopefully take a few more in natural light tomorrow.
