I'm pretty sure the whole point of the movie being 3D is to satirize the 3D craze that's going on in the studios' minds right now thanks to Avatar. Everything that can possibly be filmed or converted into 3D is done so, regardless of whether it's a good idea or not. So the Jackass guys just figured, "why not?" At least they actually filmed it in 3D instead of just post-production conversion.

That being said, as with every other 3D movie, I'm sure there will be 3D and non-3D showings, so you'll be just fine if you can't get over your irrational hatred for it.
