Okay, either this is some big hoax/ publicity stunt, or Jamie boy has finally gone over the edge. I mean, DNA test? Where exactly did they find 2000 year old DNA? Cameron should have learned his lesson from Cruise and his box office grosses after the Scientology craziness. You don't mess with people and their religion. It's a career killer plain and simple.

However, the conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe this is all a Darth Chef Scientology plot. Yeah, they will convert Cameron and use his directing powers to control the world. In the name of the Hack Writer God, thou shall be conquered! :rotfl

Well, if nothing else, if this is true, Scientology will finally have a director for Battlefield Earth 2 ... and he will be bargain basement price at that ;-)

P.S. And imagine the metal morphing possibilities with the documentary ... oh, Sideshow buy those rights immediately

Hmm, seems unlikely. And what would he really test the DNA for? (bones by the way have DNA) I think he's gone crazy, I hope this won't cause problems for his future projects.

There was already a movie about this called "The Body" starring Antonio Banderas. It flopped. So will this.

There's a book trilogy about Christ being cloned and being the antichrist. If this isn't a hoax or publicity stunt I'm barricading myself inside the house. :lol

I think this is interesting news. Cameron seems to just be producing the documentary based on archaeological evidence collected by skilled professionals. The DNA most likely came from under the teeth and will probably be used to confirm the relation of the related family members. That is, proving that Mary is Jesua's mother and that Mary Magdalene and him conceived Judah.
I don't see how this is messing with religion, all he seems to be doing is presenting the findings.

It's not an issue trying to prove they are family members, but that they are the people who he thinks they are rather than just some random people that had the same names, as said in the article those names were common in that time.

Did you ever read these? The story was pretty good but I still haven't read the third book.

We'll know more on Monday and when the Documentary is shown. But the fact that all the names and correlations corresponds exactly to that of Jesus' family is quite a coincidence. The DNA might have been used to figure out who's related to who , possibly because they only had the names on the coffins.

WHY CAN'T JAMES CAMERON DO SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT LIKE ANNOUNCING HE'S DIRECTING THE NEXT ALIENS VS. PREDATOR MOVIE AND THERE'S COLONIAL MARINES IN IT!??! :monkey1

Shades of Geraldo and Al Capones vault.
Yet another attempt by the world to tear down Christianity.
This will be as successful as all the others.

James your lookin' in the wrong place!

Luke 24:5-6
5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men(angels)said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee."

Most people arent aware that Jesus appeared to over 500 people in his resurrected body. Paul reminded the church of Corinth of this fact
in his letter and that many eyewitness' were still alive.
If the apostles were lying about this they would have surely recanted rather than be persecuted and put to death for this belief as most were.
Paul continues on about the consequences of a faith built on the "lie" of a resurrected Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15
1Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

12But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

Amen

Yeah, a few years ago, I thought they were pretty enjoyable and a very nice contrast to the Left Behind books which I really didn't care for.

This is very interesting. I'd imagine that the DNA comes from the Merovingian (SP?) line that still exists and is the basis of the word "sangrael" meaning Holy blood rather than being 2 words Holy grail. This is the basis of the science and facts behind the DaVinci Code also.

Cameron's a smart guy and this sounds like a great documentary.

I can't see that this has anything to do with scientology though - this idea makes much more sense than anything scientology believes.

Cameron isn't exactly an idiot. I think this will be interesting to see from a scientific aspect.

Thank God I'm an atheist. :monkey1

There's an episode of M*A*S*H where Father Mulcahy says to Klinger: "I thought you were an atheist?" And Klinger replies: "I gave it up for Lent."

I am intrigued yet saddened by this all....I know that there will always be science buffs wanting to debunk Christian beliefs or prove they actually happened....but they are messing with peoples' faith here....Imagine if what he says is true....how many millions of people that will affect....for some people their faith is their lives and whether or not you agree with that...to take that away can only lead to chaos. I just wish somethings were left alone.....that's my opinion and I'll get off my soap box now.
