What would you guesstimate these to be worth? There aren't many available to the public and the few that are on forums are requesting anywhere from $200-500.

That is a little high IMO. Some of the old Gladiator posters go for around that price. Some other good movies too. This movie isn't even out yet. So I would just say it is the demand. You will have to at least wait until the movie is out for a few weeks to get a good gauge on worth. I would never pay that much for a poster of a movie that isn't even out.

I would say that's right on the money for this poster Badmoon. Lenticular posters always sell for more. Add the fact that it's a James Cameron movie, so this will probably always sell for at least $200.00, most likely higher. I saw this at one of the local theatres here. Nice poster, but I wouldn't pay the $$$ for it. The lenticular effect isn't all that impressive.

I read in a forum that the Nightmare Before Christmas re-release one is going for $1500!

I agree that the lenticular could be done better because when I walked by it the 3D effect would start over, in other words it didn't have a wide range.

I was contacted by Tom Saville of big3d.com the worlds largest lenticular manufacturer. He told told me and I quote "We created the 1st prototype for Avatar 3D poster. We did not print some of the posters out now, but are working on a greatly improved version for Cameron."

So who knows. Maybe awesome posters that have even more impressive 3D on the way. We will just have to wait and see.

If Avatar does well then I can see it going up in value. I just think the lenticular technology is cool. I have one on the way that I got a great deal on but I don't think I would sell it. Backlit in a theater you can see the pores in the skin on this poster. The looks crazy real. Just a cool design.

Where did you hear that about the NBC re-release? The most I ever saw that poster go for was around $500.00 when they first popped up a couple years ago. They then leveled off to a couple hundred.https://cgi.ebay.com/Nightmare-Before-Christmas-in-3D-lenticular-poster-orig_W0QQitemZ400043504399QQcmdZViewItem The original NBC lenticulars go for a couple grand.

Just about all the lenticulars I have seen do that. I was referring to the fact that it just has depth and doesn't have a second image to change to from different angles.

gotcha, yeah it doesn't change. And about the nightmare before Christmas ones, I don't know how u tell the difference between the two. How can u if it's the old one or the one for 3d IMAX. Anyways , they are cool posters.

The older ones are a different image. There is the regular version:

and the Hell's Gate:

Both of these are about a 1/4 inch think and have to be backlit. Otherwise they just look like a piece of black plexiglass. The newer one is the one I linked which was for the 2007 3d re-release. Is there another one for the re-release this year or was that the one you were talking about?

I don't know. Someone in a movie poster forum mentioned the NBC lenticulars going for $1500. Thats about all I know

Was it movieposterforum.com? If so, they were talking about the old one. The old ones are pretty rare. I think I have seen 3 auctions on ebay for the Hell's Gate poster in 7 years. The other older version is a bit more common, but it doesn't pop up that much either.

And there's this Japanese Panasonic commercial.

A still just released by AVTR.COM (A viral marketing website for Avatar)

It is a screen still of someone touching unobtanium. The mineral the humans are wanting to mine on the planet Pandora. Notice how the rock is floating. Hence the floating mountains. Thought some of you might like this.

I finally have my 3d lenticular Avatar poster framed with a lighted movie poster frame box. You cant tell the depth from the pic but its pretty sweet.

Wheelin' and dealin' ;-)

I know a guy who works at a theater in Louisiana. I got several avatar 35mm film trailers and this lenticular from him. I wish I could film it or take a pic where you guys could see the depth. There are a few theaters out there that have this in the poster case so your local theater might have one on display. They have been trying to keep them out of the hands of the general public...muahaha!

Marketsaw.com mentioned a new trailer will be released very soon focusing more on the story and less on CG. One that will include Sigourney Weaver. As they are still working on the CG and the Score for the movie.

Also, new photos have been released. Take a looksee at what is above Sigourney and that guy in the top right in a jar.
Could this be an easter egg where Cameron is paying homage to Aliens? Looks like a facehugger to me....

You may need to click and make the pic bigger to see it.
