That's a letdown. I mean, it still works... but, it's not Jason X without the other mask. If it's just the Part 7 mask, there are gonna be a lot of Hardcore fans upset about it. I guess I'll see within a week or so...

I'll reserve final judgement until then... but still pisses me off.

I wonder if the mask is the reason for the delay. Perhaps the original mask mold was broken by mistake and they had to decide what to do. I heard this happened to SOTA before. Some idiot at the factory broke the mold for one of the lightning hands for the SDCC Evil Ryu, as a result the figure only had one hand with electric bolts around it.

Definitely doesnt looks as good as the proto.... but I still think he looks very good....For me its all about the face sculpt...and this one looks to be one of the best...And, about the mask, I dont care at all...

Looks a little diff but still very happy to be finally getting him...the proto seemed darker too...maybe just the lighting...and I think the mask looked better on the proto...

Is the prototype on the big boy body? It looks taller/wider to me

I am a little bummed that the mask is a rehash, as the new mask in the proto photo was really striking and unique...

Yeah, the face sculpt is one of the better Jason's... I like it alot, and that makes it worth the money paid. I'm sure I will like it much more once I have it in hand. That was how things worked out with Jason Goes to Hell... I hated it when the production pics went up, and loved it once I got it home and in the right lighting.

Only time will tell...

Ugh. Any Sideshow reps wanna chime in on this one before this figure starts shipping? Personally, I'm still hoping the mask ends up being closer to the prototype version when he arrives. Although, to be perfectly honest, I haven't been totally thrilled with any of the removeable masks since the Part 3 Jason. I don't like the flimsy plastic they used on Parts 6 & 7. But that's just a quality issue. If they're re-using the Part 7 mask for Jason X, then we've got an accuracy issue. I know no figure is going to be PERFECT but the wrong mask? In the World Of Jason, that's a pretty BIG issue.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think he actually looks better! I didn't like the boat shoes and I thought he looked all out of proportion. I held off, but seeing the production photos, I put myself on the waitlist for the excl. I know I'm far down onthat list now, but if everyone feels like you guys do, maybe I've got a good chance!! Really, CM? I would have thought, despite only knowing you through your posts, that you would prefer something a little closer toward authentic. I agree that the big shoes looked a bit clunky but the mask they're showing now is just not the correct one. You taking any orders for Custom Replacements?

Heh. I don't know how accurate it is, since it's been a while since I saw that fine film, Jason X. But I know the production version is more aesthetically pleasing to my eye.
Seems to me that if you want to bulk up this figure, just transfer all his neccessaries to a Hellboy body, wrap the torso and limbs in a little tissue paper to add girth, and put his clothes on. I'd be pleased to surgically alter anyone's Jason who wants it. Just send me the neccessary parts and a check for what you paid for the figure!

What is the issue with the mask? What's innacurate about it? I know it's a re-use (despite the straps being on the inside and the deco/weathering being different), but what is actually wrong with the details?

The mask they used in the film had noticeable indents around the eye and nose area. The nose was fairly pronounced as compared to other masks and the side that had been chopped away with the motorboat blade wasn't gouged.

I apologize if cross posting is frowned upon, but Michael Crawford said over in Rebelscum:

Word I heard from Sideshow last week is that they production photos show the wrong mask, and that the figure SHOULD ship with the correct one. They did produce the one you see in the first photo, and weren't sure where the screw up was yet. If it ships with the wrong one, they said they'd ship the correct one to buyers.

We'll see how it turns out...

I'm hoping for the best, but it would be nice to hear from Sideshow on the matter

Hi guys, just chiming in here with official word from the Production Guys(tm).

The photos that were updated were taken from the Pre-Production Sample of Jason X. Somehow, someway, the wrong mask got put in those couple of boxes, but the actual production figures - shipping out soon - WILL have the correct mask. Photos will be updated next week, as soon as the final, final, final version is here....
