He may look a little small in pictures but since he is longer then higher its pretty deceiving, he really is huge.

Every day since I've gotten him I spend time looking at him like someone who watches their aquarium...

I weighed my base and shark on a regular home scale and the base is about 5 pounds and the shark is right at 10. So, 15 as a set. Box is large and heavy....

No lights in my base. Solid lucite or whatever that blue tinted stuff is.

Hope that helps.

Is the JAWS logo plate removable so you can put it on either side or is it in place permanently because the photos I'm seeing in here have it on different side than the official pictures.

There is a dual edged groove running around the edge of the base which allows you to use the display plaque pretty much anywhere on the base.

Thanks, I can't wait for Tuesday when I have him in hand. I don't know about anyone else in here, but I've been wanting an accurate full body item of Bruce for 13 years and my heart lit up when I saw Sideshow was going to make one. I love the McFarlane set, I was just disappointed they never did a full body shark, but now we have one, and from what I've seen in photos, a beautiful one. Was there a DVD of the production videos included?

No DVD Maulfan. Just those plans.

Yeah, that nameplate is a loose peice that has a caution breakable note on it, although I accidentally dropped mine and it bounced and all for ages it seemed and did not break. (I have NO idea what kind of stuff this thing is cast in!!!!) The nameplate sets into that 360 goove on the base anywhere you want to put it, sides, front, back, wherever. I sometimes put it under the mouth as that part faces me at my computer. But, mostly I leave it off. Looks more museum-like just as the shark. No tag. Just big fish. Seems even bigger without the tag to me.

Hope you other guys start getting them soon, as I really wanna see him in your personal displays now. Mine is so nondescript and non fancy...for now...
To see Bruce in a better display is now my biggest curiousity.
Not sure anyone has a nicer setup that Gruson's. But, it will be interesting to see!

Good luck guys! It'll be the biggest present you have ever opened, short of a car...:lol

I'll find out tomorrow, but I'm very anxious about this piece, is there anything that connects Bruce to the base or does he just rest on it, given his weight I've been worried all along how well the base could support him with such little surface area. He his separate from the base right, because Sideshow customer service told me he would be.

Yeah, he comes separate. The base has a nice, 1" rectangular post that has a metal rod inside it that protrudes up another inch. You thread that assembly into his belly and he slides down, neat as you please, onto a fine trimmed black felted top area of that wonderful, clear blue lucite post.
EXQUISITE base! You'll love it! No shaking or wobbling at all. Perfect.

Thanks for the info, I have no doubt I'll love everything about this piece, my only concern all along has been the ability to check out Bruce up close and personal off the base, and that the base supported him well, he has so many protruding pieces if he were to fall of the stand he'd lose teeth or fins somewhere along the way, can't wait til tomorrow, I think I'll have to open him up during lunch :)

Grats, you'll love Bruce, I keep trying to get my wife to let me put my display in the living room, she keeps singing to me "show me the way out of the house, I'm tired of all your statues...:D

Evan

I'm lucky... My fiance is such a huge Jaws fan that she WANTS it displayed in the living room. :lol

She's just as excited about this thing as I am, which is pretty wierd... :D

I would just sing back to her:

"Fairwell and adeu to you fair spanish lady, fairwell and adeu to you lady of spain, for we received orders for the sail back to Boston, and so never more shall I see you again."

Don't knock it though, my girlfriend tolerates my collecting but she thinks it's odd, though she's a LOTR fan so I'm sure she won't object to having those around the house.
