Ugh despite finishing a new custom with the DB studios head and new hot toys body which I’ve just shot and will be up on my instagram in a day or so if you follow me, I do think I’m gonna pull the trigger on this.

I’ll likely part out some of it maybe I’ll be keeping one body and one Selena outfit… keeping the body for someone else if i like it and selling off some of the outfits. Not sure yet…

But the outfit and body for the catwoman is just leaps and bounds above hot toys.

I mean having a 1/6 female figure that doesn’t look like she’s wearing a diaper from behind (really hot toys? It’s been like 17 years…?) is almost enough to seal the deal for me.

Update: pulled the trigger on C+ version from specfiction.

Though she’s not my favorite catwoman I’m excited about this figure she looks great and female figures generally are something that excite me given there’s not many of them. As I alluded to in my last post this may be the first true leap and bound in quality I’ve seen in a female figure in awhile.

Let’s hope the year they have to fulfill let’s then deliver a great final product.

Great price at Spec, wish he could get them shipped by air from JND though like InArt stock.

I was looking at that last night. Looks like he is charging exactly what JND is charging and free shipping in the US if I'm not mistaken.
I’m assuming he gets it a few hundred dollars cheaper than their retail price so is making minimal profit. Fair play! Especially when others are adding so much to the already high price!

Yeah Todd told me they buy their
JND stock direct in Korea and boat it over to Cali.

For that price and free shipping,
I wouldn’t mind a short wait.
What was the price at OSK?

Yeah, the equal price was nice to see for those of us that can't purchase some of the licenses direct from JND. It's great to have that option available.

I don't believe Kit has offered it yet on his site.

Was wondering the same about OSK.

SpecFic has CA sales tax (close to $200) and slow shipping (still waiting on statues from Todd that were released over a year ago and paid off).

I’m pretty sure I remember Kit mentioning he may not even stock this in one of his facebook replies, but wasn’t sure. JND’s other figures probably didn’t sell too hot for them.

Well, JND has now "Sold Out" - in Europe, the only options available are the C version, and the price in Euro's is about 2200+ - so I'm out. Paying 1100+ Euros for a 1/6 scale figure is just not on my to-do list....especially when I don't need the Catwoman herself.

Part of me is actually relieved - sometimes having the choice taken away is a good thing, as it saves you from yourself. I was this close to pulling the trigger, and I think, for me, that would have been a big mistake.

Congratulations to anyone getting this! Will this be a centre piece in your collection, or just another addition? And if it is going to be a centre piece, will it be a centre piece because of the character or the price paid? If I had pulled the trigger, it would have been the MOST money I ever spent on a 1/6 scale figure and it would have had an elevated position in my collection based on the cost alone - I think, for me, this is not the right way to collect.

Sorry for the psyche session - I'm genuinely interested in your opinions on this. Am I over thinking it? Is this just the new way of 1/6 collecting - at least at the "High End"? How does this figure stack up in terms of quality and price to custom 1/6 scale stuff?

Yeah…. Sometimes it helps when the choice is taken away. My problem is I would then end up on eBay two years later paying another 50% on top. I have been caught out before like this. Basically if I want something I just have to pull the trigger and if I have to sell later and it’s a loss then I have to take that. Rather than missing out and still having to scratch the itch later. To be honest I have only sold a couple of things and mostly make my money back. I generally end up keeping them and doing enough overtime to pay for them by the time release comes.

As for centre piece…. I don’t really have favourites. I collect what I like and it’s all various prices. But I like it all pretty much equally from $250 pieces to bigger things like this. I would say my most impressive pieces are the Prime1 last of us 1/4 statues and they have far more presence then this, but this will go well with my other 1/6 Nolan Batman bits including the 1/6 queen batpod Hathaway. On a Nolan Batman shelf or two.

As for customs… yeah more than this price 😬. I’m not going to list the various prices I have paid but for a decent custom 1/6 figure or statue with a sculptor making you a good sculpt and then painting/ rooting you are approaching the price of this set just for a finished head if it’s a decent sculptor, painter and rooter. So in comparison to that this is not that expensive. Plus the catsuit isn’t really feasible as a custom clothing project unless it’s a statue.
