There’s undoubtedly good aspects of this figure, but they just aren’t worth anywhere near the price. If you’re willing to dump this much money into a Ledger Joker, why wouldn’t you just go full-custom and get a much better result? This seems to cater to an insanely niche group.

InArt was a nice “halfway” point, even if it didn’t really revolutionize much. It’s a great looking Joker next to Hot Toys’ DX19 Batman, which at the time was all it needed to be. I still think it looks great when futzed and posed right.

It’s just weird. If this figure had been $500-$600 I don’t think it would be getting ripped apart nearly as much. Not a fan of JND’s apparent ego either.

Not going to lie I kind of like the neutral with the 2 dogs for a "what if" sequel scenario I mentioned a few pages back where he is older and uses his dogs more in a R rated bloody affair. He is older and more broken down but also more twisted and vicious in this made up scenario. I often do these because I have a lot of cool figures from bad movies :lol

The smiling head and the price can burn in hell though.

There’s really nothing about this offering that’s even enticing to have. Between all three licensed TDK Jokers, the only thing that’s hands down more screen accurate is the shirt. IMO.

I think some good has come from this situation though - discounting some of the "click bate" - bandwagon "hate" we're seeing online - this feels like a reset moment (IMHO).

I don't know about you guys, but, to me, it felt like the pricing of figures (1/6 or Statue scales) was a runaway train. Companies like JND coming out, hitting the hype button and shaking collectors down for every penny. Billing themselves as a "Rolex" like entity in the figure space, where you should feel priviliged just to be able to buy their stuff - put up, or shut up - kind of deal.

But now we have the cast iron proof! Just because they charge more - you definately are not getting more for your money - not in terms of likeness, not in terms of materials, and questionable "advances" in technology / engineering.

To me it's uplifting to know that I can buy cheaper and get better or the same result - JND hubris be damned.

Their Catwoman is killer though. And a great example of what they can achieve (assuming they can stick the landing).

It's probably, objectively, the most impressive mass produced figure to date (even with its hiccups).

Yeah, but you can't buy Catwoman (even ignoring it's issues) - they lock you into buying a second figure (fashion doll) that no-one (few people) wanted. I was kinda interested in the civilian fashion doll (I'm a freak) - but then I get hit with the opposite problem - I have to buy Catwoman.

So, even when JND does a decent job - their business / pricing model screws you over.

Yeah, that's true.

To be honest, if you preordered already liking the prototype, I find it hard to believe you'll be all that surprised at what you're seeing here.

What I didn't like on the prototype is still present. Overly detailed, wrinkly and chalky skin. Outfit looking off in numerous areas. Second sculpt that's suppose to be the incentive for Type C being the worst looking sculpt out of the two. Etc etc. If you liked all that on the prototype, they're all very much present here.

They did great in trying to match the quality of the prototype but I feel they focused too hard on that instead of actually taking in feedback to fix what people didn't like. Then again, with this being their first figure, that might be all that they really tried to achieve. I hope that in time, they'll be able to do both but it's hard to say with how they seem to handle their statues and the feedback that they get.

I think it was expected this wasn’t going to turn out well since its inception no matter what, but some folks on here insisted that the final product would turn out the same as the prototype with no drop off and treated others like they were dumb for being skeptical. Oh, how the tables have turned.

I think the drop off comes down to deliberate changes mostly. They likely could have produced their prototype 1:1 and kept everybody who ordered it happy at least. Just stupid.

I respect the commitment to JND’s Joker.

But being done after this?

After essentially getting the big 3 Jokers, I'm done haha. Until HT makes the inevitable silicone with articulated mouth to make him laugh and internal sound board. Only then, will I get back into Joker lol. I'd take an updated cop Joker, nurse Joker and maybe BR Joker, but only from HT or IA. After this release, JND should be out of the 1/6th Joker market at least.
