Looking forward to what you think seeing as you've been in the game since the 90's!

I've only been collecting since 2013 but am excited to see these developments regardless of risk factor.

For me (no I'm not rich, I sacrifice and work hard to get items that I would like), two whole figures with two different portraits and the other new features is worth the money.

I actually hold the clearly opposing view here of being tired of companies making bog-standard industry process figures but increasing the price 100's every year or so whilst offering nothing new and the tech and process becoming lower cost.
Likewise, man. Very interested to hear what you have in mind later when you get the figures.

Yes, the risk factor is always there. Silicone deteriorates, but nowadays we have medical silicone used for figures and statues.. and the right technology to make sure it lasts. (like for instance.. don't ever put them as your outdoor garden gnome).

With the right combination of home appliances such as AC, dehumidifier, humidity/temperature indicator, and acrylic case, they can last up to 30 years, at least. And after that, it's not that they are going to melt. They just got dried and might have small cracks.

If only the Jim Henson TMNT costumes are made from medical silicones! Always sad to see them rot like that. (even though NECA did a great job taking a poke at that).

I'm just like you, mate. I worked hard to get them figures and statues. And if I don't already have the InArt two-pack, I might go in the same direction.

Yes, I shared that view too in some cases..
All the new HT figures have the separate rolling eyeballs feature, priced similarly to previous figures without this feature, which irritates me. For example, Spider-Man Tobey (no separate rolling eyeballz) and Green Goblin's green armor (with rolling eyeballs, but without glide), both at almost the same price, around $300– released relatively close together. It seems HT previously enjoyed substantial profits until competition forced them to innovate and adjust their pricing strategy.

I'm definitely interested to see how the silicone looks 30 years from now. I will say last week I saw a silicone mask I've had boxed up in the attic for nearly 10 years and I was pretty sure the heat each summer would have damaged it but it actually looked the same as the day I put it up there, so 20 years to go

All of these silicone smaller statues or figures may eventually get replaced with better pieces. Look at Cinemaquette pieces compared to statues of today. Like Indiana Jones JND and now PCS is doing silicone 1/3 Star Wars. As much as I would love to have these forever, I would assume I would sell down the road to upgrade, or sell to make room. However, knowing it can last 20-30 years is encouraging of course.

Realistically, these silicone pieces should last "forever" - IF the grade of silicone the companies are using, are what they say it is - then, under reasonable display / storage conditions, these silicone pieces should rival resin / polystone in terms of longevity.

Even the most basic forms of silicone used for medical, kitchen & food equipment, building sealants - last decades of serious abuse, ranging from abrasion, to drastic temperature changes and in some case, direct heat for repeated cycles - and let's not forget, chemical exposure as well. So, I imagine, that statue sitting, unmolestered, in your glass cabinet - will not be under any kind of strain!

That said, the basic silicone sculpt might not be at risk - but the paints used, is another story - and here you need to avoid direct UV light sources - again, the silicone won't care - but the paints might. In fact, I wouldn't subject the paints to extreme heat either, or prolonged moisture exposure....just in case.

No…thats not true….is it??

Are you really the only one here?

Genuinely asking, not being a jerk.

Who else on this forum PO’d JND’s Joker?
Got type C on PO, but haven't paid the final invoice.

The final product is close to the proto, which I liked and still do. Therefore I should just pay it off.
What holds me back is the unwarranted price.

I wouldn't have placed a deposit if it was any other character. Being Ledger's Joker I wanted to take a chance. (Even with owning InArt rooted set and having HT Artisan on PO at that time.)
Maybe I envisioned there to be drastic improvements from proto to final and I shouldn't have expected that.

I wouldn't mind some sort of showcase video (not some low res live stream, where the figure is held in front of a built in laptop camera) to help me decide whether to cancel or go through with it to at least see the figures in person.

Does someone know how long the time frame for the final payment with JND direct generally is?

To me JND proved that they are untrustworthy by adding new policies for cancellations months after the Joker pre order and then claiming that it applies to this product.

I'm glad for those who are satisfied with the final product and are looking forward to receiving this.
Whether you like the figure or not, I found reading through this thread quite amusing and hilarious at times.

Usually in hand receipts are 1-2 weeks after JND does their unboxings. Should see something end of this week or next. With JND however, they usually make very subtle changes/improvements from prototype, but nothing drastic. I think the 1/6th community got so used to IA making positive changes and even sometimes HT, that they thought JND would.

With JND, if you like the proto, 90% of time, the production will match it if not be slightly better. Not drastic. I'm keeping my order for Type-B.

feel bad for your situation , if you get it I really hope you like it .
If not it's bs if they steal that much on the deposit .

My prediction when this thing comes out the consensus will be:
It looks better than those initial final production photos but its still not worth $1800.
But then again, that's as obvious as saying water is wet.

This is what i'm hoping what will be delivered. Photos originally posted by Nick D. No detailed camera lens capturing every pore and wrinkle. Just normal warm room light without the dark backdrop.

Which in my eyes just looks way better then this

Also guessing that JND will first complete and send out the 500 sets of Type C first above all else. High rollers get first priority, and most bloggers and youtubers will likely review the Type C. Which means the Type A and Type B's will be lower priority and I don't expect to receive anything until late April or May, kind of like InArt releases. This could be a blessing in disguise as sometimes companies do modifications on the later batches when something wrong goes wrong with Round 1. Like HT's Batman Begins re-release with the shiny suit on first batch which was corrected afterwards.

Nick ain't here to comment (temporarily? permanently?). I was waiting for his take on this but whatever transpired, it seems it wasn't just him that went down.

It’s funny how we’ve gone from the usual pattern of discrediting the initial in-hand, terribly washed out, blurry photos that soften details and undermines the paint saying ‘Wait for the hi-res pics, then judge!’
and now we’re saying ‘Please God, turn down the details in those JND pics and show me something less detailed!’

I’m actually in this camp hoping an in hand video presents something more appealing.

It's more detailed in person.
