I just read over on statueforum that James stated in his livestream that Disney were restrictive on the changes that were allowed on the sculpt and even more baffling than that - they supplied JND with a colour chart for the pants which JND had to stick to. Someone should fire the person at Disney who put that colour chart together!

If I was just someone who was shouting about their color being wrong based on looking at the movie and photos alone, I wouldn't have much in my defence. However, I've got pieces of the ACTUAL fabric used to make Harrison's pants from Last Crusade, so I THINK that should be good enough provenance to know what I'm talking about. Oh well, it's far too late in the game to expect any improvements, so we're stuck with this horrible Disney controlled inaccurate version now.

I can't quite get my brain to grasp why Disney would want to restrict making the sculpt BETTER. Complete madness. Having now seen the head without the hat on, it's an absolute mess. WAY too elongated and thin and nothing like Ford's head / face proportions. So disappointing. (Unless the photo I saw suffered from horrendous lens distortion). :(
Unreal, but somehow believable. It’s almost like they wanted JND to fail.

Thinking about this a little, I wonder if Disney is trying to keep consistency with their merch offerings rather than the movie.

Even their stunt spectacular actors wear darker pants.

Seems like they did. If I remember correctly when this was first announced, JND mentioned that they wanted ROTLA, but it was incredibly difficult for them to work with Disney to get the Indy license not to mention only allowing them TLC and that if it did well enough, they may consider allowing them to do one from the other films.

Wow! looks like my theory was unfortunately correct! Makes me a little concerned with them doing Jack Sparrow next year as well as any potential future 1/6 Indy figures.
Given how difficult JND let on that Disney was to work with just to get The Last Crusade license, I wonder if any sort of resubmittal and approval of a new/updated proto would've been just as difficult? If that's true, maybe they decided to forgo that in the hopes of making a new Indy in the future

all official production pics are up, some of which have already been posted. EDIT: Unboxing posted I'm guessing the unboxing video will be coming in the next few days as well. Will be interesting to see what it looks like with the hat off

Terrible. Absolute FAIL.

- Hat too big and incorrectly shaped. (Not to mention the totally incorrect "diagonal" position they recommend its put into).
- Jacket too big and pocket flap elongated too much compared to original jacket (and prototype).
- Head too elongated and too thin.
- Eyebrows too dark and strange expression.
- Pants colour TOTALLY wrong as we've discussed to death over the past 12 months.
- Pants too short. Should be fully sitting over his boots, not riding up above them like they've done it.
- Bullwhip incorrectly detailed and not anywhere near long enough.
- Gunbelt is completely missing the whip holder. Where do they think Indiana coils the whip and attaches it to his belt???

I could go on and on but you get the picture.

Closest image I could find which has the expression JND seem to have gone for is this production still from Temple of Doom

Jeez Indy collectibles have been cursed over the many years.

These two statues are so wrong in so many ways it's hard to even know where to start.

So do I cancel and eat the large deposit and then just buy the new Iron Studios statue (A$1200) for a 1/4 of the price I’d have to still pay on the balance of the JND? (A$4000)

The pose is the best ever done for an Indy statue and look at the pants color!! Lol

Pose and color, etc is great, but the face is awful - especially the weird mouth.

Other than the skin color, this thing has faired far worse than the prototype.

Sad, because just about every other release they've done has exceeded the proto. Considering this wasn't meant to land until Q1 next year, it feels liked they've rushed this out and massively dropped the ball.

I wonder if there’s a path to correct these two costume errors. I would be good for purchasing custom pants and gun belt, but I’m not sure where to start.
