TexasFi3nd - where you at? I hope you're not suffering from buyers remorse now you've opened your JND Reeve and instead are just basking in its awesomeness and have lost track of time?! LOL. Look forward to hearing your reaction to seeing it.

Got my shipping notice from JND :panic:

Happy Paul Rudd GIF by Saturday Night Live

Also, first video review below. I don't tend to like this guy's reviews but to his credit, I think it's one of the best looks at the headsculpt we've gotten

😂 No buyers remorse at all. I got in late last night and have been crazy busy with work today. Hopefully I'll have time to unbox this tonight.

Great visual review of the statue and I'm slightly encouraged to see the part where he said the head needed to be pushed down a bit (and seemed to be a bit loose so they could put the cape on). The cape is the ONLY thing I'm slightly disappointed with on this so if it is indeed possible to pull out the head just enough to take the cape off, I intend to get a fully accurate 1:3 scale cape made to upgrade it slightly which would then make it perfect for my taste.

I also put a comment on that video to clarify that the edited Indiana Jones photo he showed is actually my edited photo that I showed here and on Statueforum.

I agree about the cape, but I'm not sure it bothers me enough to get it replaced, even though I still think the yellow \S/ on the back does look a bit cheap. Maybe once I see how your custom one turns out if you do end up getting one made, I may change my mind.

I'm pretty sure the head is removable with some force. Ppl have removed and reattached the TDK Joker head after getting it rehaired and repainted.

Hi All! @cking I know you have been anticipating more in hand photos and I am here to oblige! I must say that pictures truly do not do justice to this amazing portrait and museum quality piece that JND Studios has delivered upon for our Christopher Reeve Superman! Everyone will have their own personal thoughts. I have met Christopher Reeve. This is the best representation I have seen in a Christopher Reeve Figure. (Including the revered Arnie Kim piece which I do think is amazing in its own right) I believe the changes that were made from the previous version were necessary to create a figure that represented Christopher Reeve in Superman The Movie. It is important to understand that lighting and proper camera settings with Smart Devices are vital in providing the best representation of what the piece looks like in person. For me, this is a 9 out of 10 in the overall presentation and artistic choices. If I had one thing that was a miss for me it would be the color of the S Emblem and Tonic. The blue is slighter darker than how the costume looked on screen and the S and his Red trunks show a more maroon color instead of the lighter red. This is something you can tell because the boots and the cape are the right shade of red IMO. I took these pics today with phone 15 Pro under various lighting conditions right after I took out of the box. Enjoy!

I was going to wait until the weekend where I'll have more time to clear out the spot where I'll be putting my CR statue and enjoy the unboxing experience, plus it's late and I'm tired🥱 but I was anxious to finally see it already. I did a quick unboxing and snapped a quick pic. First impression, this statue is incredible😲. There are some great photos online but, as some have said, they still don't do this statue any justice. It's a totally different experience when seeing it in person🙂. It's no doubt Christopher Reeve. It's almost creepy how realistic looking the silicone portrait is. I also love how well the suit is sculpted. The cape feels high quality and drapes really well. I know the fortress of solitude themed bases have been done to death but I like the simplicity of this one. I guess my only gripe about this piece is there was a bit of loose rooted hair around the neck and little rooted hairs sticking out on the headsculpt which I was able to fix with a bit of water. I didn't notice any bald spots or areas on the sculpt where the hair could've come un-rooted(for lack of a better word), so not sure where the loose hair came from. Regardless, I couldn't be more happy to finally have a CR Superman statue in my collection😀.

Again, here's a quick crappy pic I took😅.

For sure man. I'm really looking forward to your review and pics of your duo set(I'm so jealous). You should get them in next week right?
Ideally yes 😅 baring no issues with customs like last time. I technically don’t have an eta for the delivery date yet from FedEx, though one of the tracking apps I use says to expect it by next Wednesday 🤞🏼

What a great couple of posts to wake up to. Thanks @Supernoldy73 and @TexasFi3nd for your much appreciated first impressions and photos. Hope these turned out to be the grail pieces you were hoping for? They look amazing in your photos! :)

Strange that the "maroon" appearance of the red isn't showing up in your photos @Supernoldy73
Here's a photo of some authentic fabric which does have a bit of a maroon appearance though. This was from Propstore's of full original costume that was displayed at the Movieum in London a few years ago.

Just my damn luck... I got off work early today and had time to admire this statue from top to bottom and unfortunately I noticed an issue that I didn't catch last night since I checked it out briefly and went to bed. There's a paint imperfection/defect on the right bicep of Superman. After thinking about it, I feel this isn't something minor and is unacceptable. I took some pics while the statue was out of the box and pics after repacking it because I feel this definitely warrants a replacement. I already reached out to JND with the pics and just waiting for their response now. Damn, this sucks and really bums me out😒. Fingers crossed JND won't make it difficult to get a replacement. @Supernoldy73 I was looking at your awesome pics. Does your statue suffer from a similar issue on the same area as mine? I hope I'm wrong.

Oh man! that's a bug bummer  I'm so sorry to hear that. I've heard JND is pretty good with their CS so hopefully you get it sorted out quickly.
Same here man. If it's not one thing it's another. This is always my luck when it comes to these kind of things which sucks the joy out of owning a beautiful statue like this. I really hope JND comes through with getting an easy replacement.

Oh no. Really sorry to hear that TexasfI3nd. They absolutely should replace that without any questions. Hope it gets sorted out for you ASAP so you can get back to enjoying the piece.
