Re: Joebizz34's Customs, Re-Paints and Kitbashing

Ron, thank you so much for working on this figure for us. My husband is very excited about receiving this figure.

No problem. I'm happy to do it. Thanks to Elvis's tips, I might try a couple of more things on the figure before sending him to you. Either way, you will have him by early next week.

Either way, I'm fine with it. Based on the pictures we would be happy with the way he looks already. However, if you want to spend a little more time on him to tweak some things, I'm all for it. i am not going to argue about trying to make him look even better then before. You can use this figure as a Ginny pig to try out some things and the fact that it was Elvis that suggested it makes it even better. :yess:

Some touch of gloss varnish on the clothing could give a nice wet and bloody look too!

Go berzerk on this one, this is jason we are talkin' about.

Thanks my friend. I'm always trying to improve for the love of the hobby.

Re: Joebizz34's Customs, Re-Paints and Kitbashing

Ok here are the final pics. I am going to mimic what I did for this one to my original one. Notice the differences in the blood, rib cage on the front and more exposed on the back. I added some more blood on his mouth as well. I did add more Gloss varnish like Elvis suggested and I did use Sand paper which worked out really well.

Hey Elvis, I also discovered that a Brillo pad works great as well. It acts as sand paper but also waters down the clothes at the same time to create the more natural fit you mentioned. It is like perfomring 2 tasks at the same time.

I hope you like the changes....

Thank you Terminator!! I appreciate that. Like I said from the beginning, it's a learning process which I am very eager to do. :)

Ron, thank you again. Like I posted in your other thread, this far exceeds what we expected. It's amazing to see what you did here with our figure compared to even your own. It definitely shows your progression. We will display him proudly. :clap

Thanks Ski...it pretty much sums up my personality. When i first joined here i joked about how I loved both Horror and Winnie the Pooh. My friend once said that my perfect match would be a bloodied up Winnie the Pooh holding a weapon. Well sure enough, i searched for a picture like that to be my Avatar, and there it was!! :lol

He will be on his way back to you by tomorrow morning. Since you are in Philly which is not that far away, you should have him in your hands before the end of this week.

Re: Joebizz34's Customs, Re-Paints and Kitbashing

Ok I know there has been a lot of Jason Goes To Hell going around lately but I too have been finishing one up. My goal is to do every single Jason so he was next up for me.

This one was tricky. I did actually cheat on this one and replace the Sideshow body. You know that my thing has been to try and improve each Jason "as is". However this one really needed a new body. He was too thin and too hunch backed looking with that rubber spine they put on him. The head sculpt although not bad, was too small looking and not detailed enough. Overall it just didn't look intimidating enough.

Now I have to give someone else credit for this custom as well. I originally picked up this one from my good friend FAL5E. He, like me, felt that the figure needed a make over. So he actually was the one who dyed the clothes the correct blueish gray color and weathered him up with blood stains. He repainted the head and knife which all came out very nice. I bought this figure off him back in December just after Christmas time. I loved what he had done with it, but we both felt that it still needed some more TLC.

So once I took him home, the wheels starting turning. :lol

Since I didn't have a replacement head sculpt, I decided to work with what I had and re-sculpt around the head to add more meat to it and make the head look bigger. I swapped out the body, cut off his forearms and glued it onto the new body surrounded with some apoxie clay to secure it for good. I have FAL5E to thank again for giving me some of his apoxie clay to work with. The belt was missing so I replaced that along with sculpting out the heart completely from scratch since FAL5E didn't have the heart accessory that comes with him. Maybe that was an exclusive piece??? I kept the feet and part of the shin from the SS body and attached it to the new body to extend the legs out and increase his height. Then I weathered up the clothing more adding additional rips, blood stains, gloss varnish, and some battle wounds peaking through here and there.

All and all I am very happy with the end result and after showing FAL5E this figure in person, he too agreed that it was much improved and finished. He gave me his blessing to not only share it, but to give him credit for the role he played in improving this figure. This was a joint effort between himself and I to complete this figure.

That looks better then the SS version. Nice job on the head. Add some hair and you're good.

Thanks Dark. You read my mind about the hair. I was thinking about doing that. FAL5E had mentioned to me that the hair was very fragile and came off easily on the original SS version so I was debating whether to bother adding it back or not. I think for the sake of being detailed I will.
