playhouse gsg9 fig i think it was a bootleg bauer from 24

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Wow I'm pumped for these dudes! Awesome pics boys. K. bowen that vest takes Mills up a notch and finishes him off perfectly. emarae that Payton head is frigin' brilliant!!! I gotta keep my eyes open for one of those. Some proper bloody customization is a must!

I thought that Iminime paints the hands to match the skin tone? I think we should mention to Denny to assemble the ties a little better. They look too loose at the neck and too long.

So just to understand, what is the weak part of the hands? The portion of the peg that goes into the hand? If you use HT pegs does that solve the problem?

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Not possible to use HT pegs with those bodies without modification (if they are what I think they are). The part that connects to the hands is Hot Toys compatible, but the part that goes into the wrist/arm is much thinner. You would have to shave down a Hot Toys peg to get it to work.

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

that is correct i wonder if they wuld evr do just head and clothing sets and we culd jusr buy our own bods, just as good

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

My guess is that the cost of the bodies and putting the figures together isn't so great. If they're gonna only knock $30 off the total, I would personally just rather get the not-Truetype and the put-together figure as part of the release. And then, you're probably turning off some buyers who don't wanna go through the hassle of getting their own bodies, modding the foot pegs, potentially dremeling/gluing the heads on, etc.

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Oh yea? So the heads aren't compatible right out of the box? I thought it was pretty seemless to port one of these guys over to a TT. That sounds like potentially a lot of modding.

It would be nice if they were able to offer 3 options to cover everyone.

1) Keep their current body & price point.
2) Offer an upgrade to a real deal TT for like $20-$30 extra
3) Offer head/accessories sets

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Heads are compatible right out of the box as the sculpt comes glued in with the HT TT adapter I believe

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Well you have to think about the facts that sculpts and adapters are two pieces.

If you want sculpts to be compatible the heads have to be drilled to fit the TT adapter. They may do that with these heads. If they are just glued without dremeling, then the neck adapter would have to be modded for that by having the peg cut off.

If you are asking for a head/clothing set, and want a head compatible "out of the box," then the head not only needs to be cast, but dremeled to fit directly on a TT, which is extra work probably affecting cost in some way. And in my experiences it is easy to get heads that aren't dremeled quite right and won't perfectly fit on those pegs. If the figures are already put together then you just avoid that headache, and can mod the head over to another TT easily.

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

I think they are dremeled and placed in and glued... seemed like that, also you can see that the DX sculpt actually comes dremelled but without an adapter attached.
But I can agree with all your points about the extra headaches involved in placing options like that...

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

So long as it's either dremeled or handled like Rainman does his figures (either attaching a little hook under the head or using magnets you glue in) I personally don't mind putting those together, but I get the impression that some collectors just don't wanna do that stuff at all and want to get the figures already put together. It gives the releases a bit more appeal IMO.

If I personally could save $30-40 by not having one of these bodies, I would probably buy parted sets from Iminime myself. But when they're trying to appeal to a pretty broad collector audience, and if they don't want to hassle with multiple release options, then I think they are doing the sensible thing using the not-TTs.

Bowen! That vest and your pics look awesome! Thanks for sharing and the info! I'll definitely look into one for my figure as well! As least it will hide that tie that the figure comes with that just doesn't want to sit right. Looking forward to seeing other pics from other collectors!:hi5:

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S' (Shipping Soon)

Cool! You'll love it! Are you getting a DX set with the extra head? Either way, it's a wonderful set, especially if you're a big fan of the movie! Congrats on scoring a set!

Yes (should be anyway.) Thanks man!

Love that movie, so this would be great. Just have to figure out a sweet setup. Would love to figure out some kind of background.
