Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

I don't know how the quality of the body that was used for Gordon ended up being but I hate to hear that the joints are so loose that it needs a stand. I hope Denny isn't going to use the same batch of bodies for Ra's or anything going foward for that matter. These sound like they should be better quality and much more compatible: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Mad...8774?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item4ab4fe3616

Why doesn't he just use the good TT bodies and charge an extra $20-$30?

Would that be the point that pushes people away?

Personally, I would gladly pay the extra $ to have better quality.

Re: [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

:exactly: TT sell out just like HT regular figures do. There are a much larger amount available of the bootleg ones like Headplay's and they're cheaper.

But I wish they did just charge the $20-30 more for a real deal TT. I hope that they would consider an upgrade option. It could be a limited amount offered at PO to whoever is willing to spare the extra cheddar.

Because getting original HT TTs amounting to 500 or so in bulk is impossible... and if possible would raise prices by $70-80...

Good info - thanks for letting us know.

Still, I'd love to have the option...

It really shouldn't raise prices that much. I can buy a single Headplay one for $24 and a TT for $55 on eBay. That's only a $30 difference on a single piece. And I don't have a wholesale deal.

It would be nice if they offered an upgrade option. If I spend $320 on an Iminime fig and I have to toss that wobbly leg body and replace it with a $55 TT, now I'm into it for $375 plus had to put a lil' work in. I rather see it come straight from them for $340-$350 and it being hassle free.

Re: SOME AVAILABLE! [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Agree completely. Or just offer the clothing set without the body.

You think so? There is NO Wholesale price for 500 original TTS as no vendor HAS 500 TTs anymore, its all in the secondary market, so every TT has to be individually sold. And in Korea things are not as cheap as China. So considering sourcing individual TTs like that from place to place adds a lot more overhead. And vendors/sellers have a tendency to raise prices once they see you are desperate, so my figure is actually quite correct

So when you plan to buy an Iminime figure itll actually end up coming at $375 or $380 with a real HT TT body... and sometimes, even if you are willing to pay a premium, they may not be able to source one for you.

makes so much sense...i just had to order a tt-m18 body,,,denny and his team did a great job...but the body took it down a notch ...the waist joints are sooo loose..cant stand without a display stand...and i am also not that thrilled with the skin tone of the hands and the shiny tone of them....(both figures)....... would rather pay up front for a premium body than to start taking them apart when i get them....

I think that's the point though.

For those who don't care, the body that's being used is fine.

For those who do care, offer a real HT TT body option. Charge the $375-$380 for that option, and source them as you're able.

If people don't want to pay the extra, they don't have to, and can get the knock-off body.

That's all that's being said here.

Re: SOME AVAILABLE! [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

One drawback to the not-TTs is the wrist peg. For the bandaged hand, Iminime sculpted on the little peg that only goes in the not-TT body. Looks like Headplay is now offering updated bodies with the TT pegs though (as well as tighter joints), so if that becomes the standard Iminime uses then it wouldn't be as big of a deal.

^^^Nice shot TF! I'm really diggin' the vest look. I'm trying to track one down but haven't found one up to par yet. Looks like I missed delivery but I can pick these dudes up from the P.O. tomorrow :joy

You're 100% right about the scarcity. But the demand would probably only warrent 10-20 per release. Bottom line is, it wouldn't cost Denny $70-$80/fig more so I don't see why you would think that's how much his retail price should jump. I bet you if I personally contacted this seller and said,"Let's do the deal off the 'bay and I'll take 20 of these from you", I'd get these for $40-45 ea. shipped:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/True-Type-...3389?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item519aff24fd

And this is an American seller. I'm sure he could get a even better deal from a seller with even more inventory on Korean or Chinese eBay or thru another source.

If the new Headplay body is better quality then the last ones, then I guess that's a close second. But I'd still rather have an option for a name brand HT TT. The last thing I like to hear is that the figures that everyone just spent $300 on has wobbly joints and the hands break easily.

Since that peg is smaller then the TT peg, doesn't it fit into a TT? Even if it's loose?

BTW do you know which bodies Rainman uses? Aside from the chest to back looseness that happens because he swaps the torso, mine are tight as can be. Are those TT or knock-offs?

Theoretically, if it worked as you might expect, then it actually would be too loose. Those pegs are way smaller than Truetype pegs. But you're right in a sense, as it would probably fit just as well on a TT as the "not-TT" simply because the part that slides over the wrist is too tight for the arm in general in my case. Peg is kind of moot.

Rainman has always used official Truetypes to my knowledge.

Great I now have to pay customs charges, this better not be as much as I think its going to be.

Re: SOME AVAILABLE! [iminime] Serial Killer Movie (7) - Detective 'M' & 'S'

Got mine today amazing paint on both! Great, great likenesses.

If I could give some constructive criticism for future improvements it would be to test the castings of the heads in different scales.Mills head is very undersized :(
