Which is sad cause it proves in order for a movie to work today it needs to be attached to an ip

It's been that way for the last 20 years or more... basically, your whole life.

It's one of the reasons television took off in the early 2000s with more risk-taking and original content.

There's a distinct lack of original content being produced today.

I'm guessing AI will eventually "fix" that, God help us...

Except AI functionally can’t do anything “original” - It sources and plagiarizes solely from what already exists. The same tired tropes and formulas we have today will continue indefinitely, but with even less humanity.

And at the end of the day, if we get there, the prompts for AI movies will be typed in by the same clueless Hollywood executives we have today.

Too bad those leaks kinda killed any hype I had. The first movie was so good on its own!

Neither have I. Although, I’m fully prepared for some kind of avant garde thing that I won’t fully understand or care to.

I mainly go to the cinema for the popcorn and 4DX experience, with the shaky ride chair that makes me feel like I’m 5 again.
