I don't know who's more disappointed and angry. The Joker fans in the movie, or the Joker fans in real life. And all because their 'Joker' ended up being a delusion.

Philips is a genius!

IMHO, some films are ahead of their time. Blue Valentine came out in 2010 and that was a film where I felt it would just have way more impact in 2024 than it did basically fifteen years ago. Soderbergh's Contagion also rings much heavier post pandemic than when it was released.

Had the film taken Gary's POV entirely, but kept the same story, I'll say again that I believe the narrative would have been 50 times more effective.

I believe this film will hit much harder when more young men openly break down and become lethal in our modern society. When it happens, not "if" anymore. My take on it.

The Luigi Mangione shooting reminded me of Joker. Rich banker/CEO gets gunned down and the public cheer because they're sick of the greedy and corrupted Elites.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie that has absolutely nothing in it of interest. Maybe 'Cool World'. And this.

Oh wait, you don't like cartoons.

I still haven’t watched this *****. 😆 I don’t know maybe if it comes to streaming I’ll have it on while I clean my house one day or something lol
Yup I'm still blissfully ignorant as to this movie as well. And the more time passes the more it might as well be another Batgirl movie that got cancelled as far as I'm concerned. 😁

Yeah, same with the summer 2024 UK riots - media and government decrying views of the deplorables, the original crime seeming to take a back seat to the wider debate.
