He's had a good, long run. Probably time for him to move on. Colbert's decision seemed straightforward, coming after Letterman decided to retire, and allows him to make more of an impact than he had at Comedy Central, so I would be surprised if the two decisions are related. Hopefully we'll get Chevy Chase to replace Stewart.

He has a team of writers, so whoever fills his spot, the same jokes will come out.

I'm assuming Stewart started with much the same team that Kilborn had, and those shows were night and day. It takes more than good writers to make a talk show work.

And the writing team has changed about 10 times over the years. :lol Stewart is not a puppet.

Makes you wonder if there's some behind the scenes stuff going on at Comedy Central

maybe, seems kind of odd, Also that new show that replaced Colbert is AWFUL! omg it sucks so bad.

Eh. Never liked him much anyway.

I say good riddance. the show has been going downhill since Colbert started (and Colbert was a much funnier show) The Daily show started to get too manipulative for me and I stopped watching a while ago

Even the John Oliver show is much better now.

The Daily Show was always more serious than Colbert.

I agree with how awful The Nightly Show is. If I were a celebrity, I would never go on it.

I love The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. The fact that Stewart is leaving bums me out indeed. Larry Wilmore, who they got to replace Stephen, just isn't interesting to me and I fear that whomever replaces Stewart will be flat as well. I never liked Craig Kilborn so it was truly Stewart who pulled me into this show and I think I'll probably stop watching once he leaves.

Regardless of your politics, Stewart had a massive impact on young people. He's a leading news source for them. Involvement and interest is a good thing, and considering it was just comedic satire, I'd say it very much grew to something way more special than that.

But I agree that Stewart has probably had his time. The show isn't going anywhere new, or doesn't feel like it's evolving anymore.

My larger concern is actually for Comedy Central. They are losing Colbert and now Jon. Two massive daily ratings hits in a few months is gonna hurt revenue.

The Daily Show gave us Colbert, Steve Correl, Rob Riggle, Ed Helms, John Oliver and a lot of other talented funny people as well.

I started to hate how much they manipulate interviews and stuff, I remember seeing some video on how they interviewed this guy for 4 hours and then when they did the sketch they only used the parts that made him sound like a horrible person.
then of course, the guy started to be harassed because of it, A lot of people (famous and professionals) were telling others to stay away from the Daily show because of how bad they were with twisting your words.

Crows... what? :lol I... are you... everyone knows that dude. I figured that out when I was like 7 and watching Kilborne do it for laughs.

I mean that's literally what made Stephen Colbert famous. Manipulating his interviews to the extreme most to be funny.
