Howdy folks-- I was able to already watch JOURNEYMAN (it airs tonight on NBC but here on the east coast of Canada we got it on a channel at an earlier time) and I really enjoyed it. It was an original premise with good acting and an interesting storyline which looks like it'll make it a pleasing show to follow. Kevin McKidd is also really good-- but of course I was a fan of his from ROME so maybe I was biased going into the show. Regardless if you get the chance I'd encourage you to A) watch it or B) PVR it for later viewing...

Post on here and let others know if you enjoyed it as well. It's nice to see the main channels going back to hourlong shows which have actually been writing and crafted by competent writers other than reality or game shows filling the airwaves.

Also loved the use of music in the show--- fun for nostalgia.:D

Everything I have heard about this has been positive. And with Kevin McKidd they really can't go wrong. :rock

"Quantum Leap" meets "Monk" without the comedy.

But when you put it that way, it sounds like a put-down :monkey3 Comedy was a crucial element in both Quantum Leap and Monk.

I really enjoyed the first episode. But I need to see more before I make a final decision.

P.S. They so need to have a Bakula cameo ... similar to the Cylon/ Benedict cameo in the original A-Team. That would kick major arse.

I'll chime in here too... I really liked it.

I had no intention of watching it, but I caught the last half hour -- which grabbed me right away -- and surprisingly kept me interested throughout until the very end. I was really impressed with the show and the acting. Even with such a tired premise, they found ways to make it seem fresh and riveting.

I love the relationship between him, his wife and the brother.

I don't mean it as a put down. It's a good show. Loved the pay off at the end with the ring. Instead of comedy it has an hour drama vibe.

I didn't like the whole Quantum Leap part of it -- which was huge -- but then I couldn't stand Quantum Leap. I was hoping for more of a lost-in-time thing with a bit of Lost thrown in. But that's me. I imagine that people who liked Quantum Leap should love it.

I liked him in Topsy Turvy:

He's got a surprisingly good singing voice.

It's certainly not an original concept - Quantum Leap, Evening Edition, TRU Calling - all used the same premise. But I did like it - McKidd is very watchable and having his dead ex also being a leaper really turned the intrigue up a notch.

About his dead ex, I got the impression that she was the love of his life. Yet A) he didn't get some sweet paradoxical love on when he got the chance and B) after he learns that she's still ... apart of his life... he produces the ring and proclaims he will always come home to wife #2 (which I take it to mean never ending love type of thing). I would have thought he'd have to rethink some things, learning she's still alive and all, and that his previous relationship would take precedence over his current one -- after all, with them both being Leapers they have much more in common than he and wife #2 ever will.

That's what makes good drama - he's conflicted. Who knows what kind of relationship he could have with journeywoman? He has a child with #2 wife and that's a powerful connection.

What's with the rules of the jumps though? Seems he sometimes appears right back where he left from and other times doesn't?

I watched it tonight. I really liked it. It'll be interesting to see how he keeps from losing his job. Or keeps everyone from thinking he's on drugs or crazy. At least his wife believes him.

I'm a huge Quantum Leap fan. :wave

I am a huge Quantam Leap fan and a huge fan of Rome so you would think that I would jump all over this show. The previews just did not seem that interesting to me, but I will have to take the advise of the board and check it out.
Is this show one ongoing story or is each episode self contained?

This show keeps getting better and better. Last week's episode was AWESOME...brought in elements from the movie Frequency...basically what you change in the past may come back to bite you in the a$$.

A great episode and makes the next few look even better.

Love that Jack is starting to be pulled into the mix...will make things even more interesting.

THanks for the letdown...I enjoyed Invasion...and it got axed...

I am truly starting to really get into Journeyman...and now this.

I am so done with NBC...

Perhaps it could move to SciFi...but I thought that about Invasion.

The worst part of it...Bionic Woman will probably get renewed and that show has HORRIBLE acting...especially from Isaac Washington and the Bionic Woman herself...
