There's nothing wrong with Sabretooth, great statue

The sculpt is great, I'll give it that. In fact, the sculpt is the only reason I'll pick one up later for a conversion.

The longer it stays 'in stock', the more obvious it becomes how badly Sideshow dropped the ball on that one. The simple fact that it's currently gathering dust in the warehouse, waiting to become gift card eligible, shows just how unpopular it's been with most collectors.

I just hope Sideshow takes something away from their experience with fan/collector reaction to pieces like Sabretooth.

I normally agree with you Binny, but Sabretooth is great. I think the bigger reason he is sitting on the giftcard list is because of high ES, high price, and the economy. Sure, a group of people didn't like the cloth, but Sabretooth is a solid statue and a great sculpt.

Yawn.....the pajama hater is back :)

For your information Carnage has no pajamas and is already on gift card status.

I love both these statues and neither of them were half-assed in my book.

I really just think it has to do with Character choice. Not everyone is a Carnage fan or Sabertooth fan, let alone willing to buy a collectible of them.

I agree... it's a great sculpt, great pose, great pose, and it even has the Wolverine PF that it was made to face of against. I'm just saying that most collectors have made it pretty clear that, for whichever of the aforementioned reasons, Sabretooth fell flat and was seen as being less desirable than other statues at similar prices.

Heck, Gambit is staying sold out/waitlisted and was only $25 less, with 100 more exclusives.

Again, I think that there are several positive things about the Sabretooth PF, BUT obviously something made it less appealing to collectors than they anticipated. That could be the ES, the price, the economy, or something about the statue itself... who knows??

Half-assed was probably a bit harsh of a description, but it obviously appeal to collectors like they had planned.

I honestly didn't even realize that Carnage was on the gift card list... pretty surprising.

And notice that I never once dropped the 'P' bomb...

Come on say it! You know you want to :lol

Yeah Carnage was super surprising to me considering that it was only released in November. The one time that they put something I want on gift card and I already have it :slap

Just imagine what could have been...

Yes, it's 1/4 scale.

Nope...still prefer Sideshow's version. Just because it is fully sculpted and 1/4 doesn't automatically make it better. The face, pose, and sculpting just doesn't have that high quality feel and presence to it.

Life is too short to keep thinking what could have been...there are always things that I wish could be changed for every statue. Comiquette Spider-Man's face (no nose), no interchangeable had for Carnage, the list goes on and on. At the end of the day I still love the pieces I have despite the slight imperfections with each one.

Partial reason is because of you and your flippin buddies is to why it ended up in the GC section, meaning high ES. Plus Sabes really isn't that popular of a character just like Carnage...which isn't a PF, and it ended up in the GC section too.

All I know is Andy better be working on Juggernaut.

lol... I never even pre-ordered a Sabretooth and no, it's Sideshow's greed that landed those in the gc section. If a piece has potential to flip, I'll order it with or without a deposit required.
