Dinosaurs shouldn't be villains or hero's in these movies. They should be attempting to act out their natural role in the food chain / ecosystem. The intrigue should be in the dinosaurs having been taken out of their natural environment and placed in an artificial one.

The movies need interesting human characters. The antagonist should be human not a Dino, to stop them turning into a slasher movie.

The movies also should be cerebral to an extent with strong themes that are explored e.g. JP looked at God versus nature, control versus chaos, gender stereotypes in survival situations and fatherhood. TLW further explored the idea of nature versus consumerism, are clones entitled to rights or are they a commodity, parenting (the dinos and Ian) and PTSD (Ian again) and Speilberg got to do his King Kong bit. JP3 explored what happens if you shoot a movie with an unfinished script, it was a pioneer in subverting expectations in a bad way (probably inspired Ryan Johnson) and taught young Bravomite an important lesson that third movies always suck (except return of the king).

I have faith in Gareth Edwards as a visual storyteller, just hope the script is good. It is positive that David Koepp is back as he was involved in both JP and TLW.

All the stills posted on the previous page look like professionals all geared up to do what they were trained for. That's not a good approach for a JP film IMO. These movies are best when it's regular folk dealing with these monsters.

Yes true but at first the movies are about how the humans seemingly have things under control and everything is going there way but then suddenly something bad happens and people die. I’m thinking those stills are from the beginning of the film before things go crazy.

the raptors in jp1 and spino in Jp3 were basically villains.i mean. yes carnivores hunt

but the main raptor in jp1 was almost human in her planning of the attacks. she was legit evil.

spino was more animalistic but still was kinda evil.

Spino hated human. Theory is that in the beginning they killed its child which would explain the constant hunt it had for them.

Haha, I remember saying something similar back in the day before JW. I said the message behind JP is to not play God. The message behind TLW is to not interfere with nature. The message behind JP/// is to not make another movie Your take on original trilogy is fleshed out much better and very well put.
In retrospect, JP/// has really grown on me. The dinos looked great. The Velociraptor animotronics especially. They looked alive. Seeing more of the abandoned InGen facilities was neat. The Spinosaurus was an excellent protagonist dinosaur. The Pteranodons were just awesome. It was also the first Jurassic movie I saw in theaters, so it'll always be special to me because of that.

Agreed about Edwards and Koepp. Set photos and toy leaks aside, I think that's the biggest reason I remain optimistic despite the mutant dino rumors. This movie is in good hands.

I don't necessarily agree, but yeah, I get what you're saying. Personally, I'm looking forward to this being a mission adventure movie with a touch of horror. I'm thinking Jurassic Park meets Indiana Jones meets Tomb Raider meets Dino Crisis (a PS1 game) meets A Quiet Place. Or something like that

Now that said, part of the plot is the mission crew rescuing a family who's vessel has capsized. So there will be regular folk in the mix, too.

Agreed. No one looks torn up or even worried in the stills we've seen, so they must be before they encounter any sort of real danger. The one exception is that still of Mahershala Ali's character:

What I like about this still is that he doesn't have a confident, heroic look on his face like when Claire lights the flare in JW. His expression says that whatever he's looking at is terrifying, and that's what I want from a Jurassic movie.

l hate the writing on the Jurassic world movies. Jurassic world 2 and 3 are awful

but Jurassic Park 3 is really nice. the humans are kind of annoying and stupid, but the sets look amazing and the dinos are amazing and the plot is simple. not convoluted. simple rescue mission. simple escape from the island.

To add to it, from the expanded JP lore that is movie canon, we know the Spinosaurus was cloned illegally on Isla Sorna sometime after the Gene Guard Act was passed, likely around 1999. It was part of Dr. Wu's amalgam testing. On the backdoor website that could be accessed through the viral JW website, there's a file where Wu mentions an "accident" left behind on Isla Sorna. So, there's a fan theory that the Spino was possibly abused as an infant or juvenile, and developed a hatred for humans as a result.

But who knows. It's just a fan theory.

l hate the writing on the Jurassic world movies. Jurassic world 2 and 3 are awful

but Jurassic Park 3 is really nice. the humans are kind of annoying and stupid, but the sets look amazing and the dinos are amazing and the plot is simple. not convoluted. simple rescue mission. simple escape from the island.

Agreed, agreed, and agreed. Though to be fair to JW, I don't flat-out dislike it like I do JWFK and especially JWD. I thought it was cool to see a working dino park and it did have some fun parts. I also remember the atmosphere at the time. I went several times to see it in different formats and people seemed excited that Jurassic was back. It was a fun time.

I know David Koepp said one of the rules he followed while writing Rebirth is events from the past six are not contradicted or retconned, but part of me hopes you could just jump straight from JWFK to Rebirth. Since the synopsis of Rebirth states the planet's environment has been mostly inhospitable to dinosaurs, it kind of makes the ending of JWD irrelevant. Which is too bad because I liked the Battle at Big Rock and JWD Prologue shorts. I was expecting JWD to be an entire movie like that. But nope, it was not. Not even close.

Yes that’s why I kinda like the spino more now. As it’s shrouded in mystery. It is kinda just dropped off on the island and is territorial and fights the T. rex . I do think it wasn’t invincible as I don’t think it could have taken the buck and die by itself that’s why it stayed on the other side of the island

to be fair,visually I really love Jurassic world.
I love the park. I love the dinos. I love blue.
I looooove love love Bryce Dallas Howard.
it's just the plot of making raptors weapons was really dumb.
and the new albino dinosaur was kind of ridiculous with plot armor.

the other 2 I really hate. jwd is the worst movie of the entire franchise.

that makes Jurassic Park 3 much more tragic and then much more deeper. if spino was abused and hurt it makes his actions in Jp3 much more tragic. spino saw these evil intruders on his island,

JP is a classic for sure but I found enjoyment out of almost all of them.

There are things I like more about TLW than JP. John Williams Score being one of them. If it got the end right I would probably like it as much as the first. Vince Vaughn is the true villain in this one and I hate that the film doesn’t know it

JP3 was ok as a B monster movie. It feels small compared to all the others. Nowhere near as good as the first two or…

…. JW. I still really enjoy this film and find myself happy whenever I sit to watch it.

JW:FK is the definition of dumb cinema but it’s a classic when compared to the worst of the series

JWD - The only truly awful JP film for me. Thought I did hate FK when I first saw it. I think after watching this one and then FK again it put that film into perspective. This film was a waste.

Bring on the next JP film, I say. It’s in good hands with GE I believe. Even if the script is average this film should look amazing visually.
