to be fair, visually I really love Jurassic world.
I love the park. I love the dinos. I love blue.
I looooove love love Bryce Dallas Howard.
it's just the plot of making raptors weapons was really dumb.
and the new albino dinosaur was kind of ridiculous with plot armor.

the other 2 I really hate. jwd is the worst movie of the entire franchise.
Bryce looks amazing in JW.

I like albino D. Plot armor and all :lol

Yeah raptors as weapons was dumb….. but they made it seem believable and seeing them running next to the motorcycle was awesome!

JW1 is the only one I find is just decent after the original, Bryce running in her heels with her Double D’s was hot in that lol

It still gives me goosebumps when she yells “Run!”

While I agree JP is the only REALLY good and must own movie, JP2 and 3 for the most part were fun popcorn movies. I'd say 2 had more cringe moments than 3 did. Especially with 80lb gymnast girl sending a 200-300lb raptor flying.... :slap

JW is also watchable as it has some cool stuff, especially the Mosasaurus and a damn fine looking Bryce. But JW2 & 3 are pretty bad all around. I'm sure this will be just as dumb, and I no longer care for ScarJo... But we shall see.

Yes that’s why I kinda like the spino more now. As it’s shrouded in mystery. It is kinda just dropped off on the island and is territorial and fights the T. rex . I do think it wasn’t invincible as I don’t think it could have taken the buck and die by itself that’s why it stayed on the other side of the island

Yes, for sure. Sorna is much larger than Nublar, allowing dinos to have their own territory. In my head canon, it's how the Velociraptor tribe from TLW aren't seen in JP///, and it's a completely different tribe in that movie. Different parts of the island and different territories. Also in my head canon, the T-Rex the Spino killed is a young adult (the CGI model always looked on the small side to me) and the fight may not have been as decisive against a fully grown adult like the Buck or Doe. Also part of the viral marketing campaign during the JW trilogy, there was a "leaked" document with population estimates as of 1994 on Nublar and Sorna. We know from that document that when Sorna was abandoned, there were six Tyrannosaurs on the island. At the time of TLW and JP///, it could be more or it could be less. Either way, I think you're absolutely right in saying the Spino stayed on its side of the island.

I also want to touch on your comment about the Spino being shrouded in mystery and expand on that. It definitely is, and the mystery got deeper during the viral marketing campaign and Wu referring to it as the accident left behind on Isla Sorna. In addition, I've always found Sorna in general to be very mysterious compared to Nublar. It's much larger, more dinos allowing for more breeding, a complex network of abandoned InGen facilities. The boat captain in TLW even says he won't stay near the islands as he's heard too many stories of fishermen who've gone up the rivers and were never seen again. I've always liked that mysterious/unknown element about Sorna.

The interesting thing about making the Velociraptors into weapons is that it's another idea that had been floating around at Universal for years. I remember hearing about it years ago when JP4 was still just a rumor and there was nothing concrete on it. And in JW, they finally executed on that idea. So in regards to the mutant dino in Rebirth theory, Universal have already shown they'll use ideas that have been around for years, so we'll see. I'm not saying I believe it and I definitely don't want it, but based on history, I can see it happening :pfft:

There are things I like more about TLW than JP. John Williams Score being one of them.

TLW is actually my favorite of the franchise, but I know I'm in the minority with that opinion. But yeah, the score is top-notch and in my opinion, the best score of all six films. It has such a sense of adventure and mystery.

For me, the main theme from TLW is right up there with the Indiana Jones theme when it comes to adventure.

Honorable mention to "The Hunt" which never made it into the movie. It's a great adventure theme, too.

Haha I agree. Like I said, I went to JW several times back in 2015, and every time it got to the scene of Owen on his motorcycle flanked by the Velociraptors racing through the jungle, I knew I shouldn't like it but I couldn't help myself. I enjoyed that scene :lol

I'm not expecting a lot out of this. If it has the feel of the older films, JP1 and TLW as claimed, that's a good start.
Hell, if it's better than Fallen Kingdom and Dominium that's something.

I rank the Jurassic movies:

JP1
TLW
JP3
JW
Fallen Kingdom
Dominium

So basically each film is worse than the one that preceded it.

With Koepp writing and Edwards directing I have some optimism but personally I think theres a biiiiiig gap in quality between JP1/TLW and the rest of the movies. It's been over 25 years since TLW for crying out loud. A long wait for a Jurassic movie that was more than switch-off-your-brain-watch-dinos-eat-people.
The movies have gotten progressively dumber as they've gone on.
So even though there's something to feel optimistic about, I won't get my hopes up.

Yep. The score is one of John’s best and easily the best of the JP series

Nice to have another TLW fan here with me :)

I still think Jw was the best attempt at doing something new. A working functional park was definitely a great idea and the hybrid dino was cool at first. It was probably the most vicious antagonist next to the big one raptor. Fallen kingdom attempts to do new things but missed the mark and feels like a lesser tlw

JW is easily the best of the second trilogy.

Another thing that sucks in dominion and fallen Kingdom is the absence of good guy deaths, there is no suspense when you know all the good guys are making it out of there. No undeserved deaths really in the whole of the new trilogy other than Zara and the paddock supervisor from JW.

JP had poor Jophrey, Ray Arnold, Muldoon and arguably Generro (he was a lawyer and left the kids but he had a toilet emergency!). TLW had so many but Eddie Carr stands out and Arjay (Roland's buddy had some weight to it) and unlucky b**tard in San Diego and the dog!

JP3 was the first to really be guilty of this, killing off the new boyfriend and the disposable mercenaries only (although i felt bad for Udesky) and even bringing Billy back to life. JP3 blitzed through its kill count in what felt like the first 30 mins then everybody was safe. I've grown to like JP3 more over the years because of Alan Grant, Isla Sorna and the great creature effects and because the World trilogy is such a downgrade overall.

Dominion had no stakes whatsoever. The first Jw atleast did. The indom killed good and bad guys. Nobody died in dominion except like bad guys and no name thugs. The giga in that movie was just an animal and acted like a regular animal. Which is fine but it was no villain. The whole movie was stupid anywat. Can’t believe they thought we’d wanna see bugs
