Re: Jurassic World

If the line of what's not believable in a dinosaur amusement park movie is drawn at training raptors, it can easily be explained away and made acceptable as being programmed into their genes. They implant into their code the understanding that while humans make a tasty meal, they are also dominant.
If John Spartan can be reprogrammed to love to knit, they can make a raptor subservient, especially when building one from the ground up.

Also, it's just a fantasy movie. :lol

Re: Jurassic World

I hear that. I wonder if at the end Pratt executes an order 66 on the raptors and makes them attack other dinosaurs?

Re: Jurassic World

Saw it for a second time with the kids today. It still rocked! The last 20 minutes or so is just EPIC! It is nonstop as soon as the big water Dino attraction part happens. Love it. :)

Re: Jurassic World

I'm taking my 4.5 year old Sunday, in 3D & D-Box noless. lol He's watched all the other Jurassic Park flicks and hasn't flinched. I hope this one isn't too much for him.

TBH, it has quite a bit of gore and blood. People getting eaten and stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary and too graphic, but it's not 100% "kid-friendly". It has no jump-scares though so there's that.

As for the movie itself, I kinda liked it. Sure, it won't win any Oscars or get into the Hall of Fame but it was a fun popcorn movie designed to sell toys. The end fight is cool, the characters are enjoyable and the effects are quite nice. The kids are surprisingly not annoying, Pratt is good and BDH is well...:love . Again, it's not a cinematic masterpiece but it's a good way to spend your afternoon. Couple it with a pizza afterwards and you're set for the night. I doubt it demands any rewatches though. But hey, the Lego sets are pretty nice...

Re: Jurassic World

Ok Wor-gar, I'm going tonight!

Wor-Gar made me excited for this movie. :lol

:clap

I think you'll like it -- but remember, it is a very "family" oriented movie and has all the "family" elements required. But I'm certain you'll like it. To what degree is my curiosity.

Can I take my 5 and 8 year old? Maybe not eh?

Depends on your kids. 8 for sure. 5... I think so. I can't remember everything but there are some violent moments. Many off-screen but a couple that are just brutal and lavished on (you who have seen it will know what I'm talking about). So your fivie might have a few nightmares... but whatever, so worth it! :lol

Re: Jurassic World

Just got back from seeing this in 3D IMAX with my kids. They're going to remember this experience for the rest of their lives. More dino mayhem than I ever imagined. Part King Kong, part ALIENS, part JAWS. Wickedly exciting entertainment. This summer rules.

The final 20 mins is epic. I've watched that scene over and over (it's on YouTube) and it gets better and better. When people look back on Jurassic World in a few years time the
T-Rex flare scene and T-Rex breaking through the Spino skeleton and roaring aswell as the Rex, Blue & Mosar tag team final team up to defeat the I-Rex
will be the most iconic and remembered scenes.

My kids are EXACTLY 5 and 8 and they *loved* it! The movie had them jumping in their seats but still grinning ear to ear. There is one death that I found a bit shocking and asked both of them if they were okay when it happened and they said yes. Just so you know my kids also can handle Pacific Rim, Godzilla 2014 and the original JP just fine. I *do* think that Jurassic World is more frightening and intense than all three of those films so keep that in mind if you know your little ones have a problem with any of them.

Re: Jurassic World

That's the one I was thinking of that got a lot of screen time. Pretty brutal, made me laugh out of nervousness.

Yes it went on forever and was kind of disturbing how that ONE death combined

fear of pecking, falling, drowning, AND being swallowed by a shark
