Re: Jurassic World

I remember seeing lost world in the cinema when I was young and got scared by the waterfall part [emoji38]

Re: Jurassic World

jye if you haven't seen this movie I recommend leaving this thread until you do. There are some *incredibly* crowd pleasing moments that it would be a bummer to have spoiled.

This film truly respected the animals that were so beloved in the first movie.

:rock

Great advise, i've avoided all spoilers, nonethless i'm outta here.

Re: Jurassic World

I will remember it forever though.

I think the thing that made it kind of horrifying was that it's the kind of thing you'd expect to happen to

one of the evil InGen tycoons, not some prissy park employee whose greatest sin was spending a little too much time on her smartphone.

The way it played out just give this film an edge that we haven't really seen since the glory days of Jaws, Temple of Doom and Gremlins when Spielberg didn't know how far was "too far." :lol

Re: Jurassic World

I think one of my favorite shots was

When the park team first went after the the Indominus and it lifted the guy above the tree foliage and the blood mist rained through the leaves. Very much like the water fall in TLW.

The blood drops falling off each side of the guys arm like Ian in the car with the water. Lots of cool homages to the original.

Re: Jurassic World

Yes I really enjoyed how they staged certain scenes to make you think they were going to give you a repeat of the first movie and then took an abrupt turn and gave you something else.

Re: Jurassic World

It definitely was like some amalgamation of the three films, yet it didn't feel repetitive. Again, got to give props to Trevorrow. 4th time around and it feels fresh and new. Tough to do.

Re: Jurassic World

When Claire asks that dude to
open paddock number 9, you just KNOW what's coming - but then you get the anticipation as the door slowly opens and then that amazing heroic reveal. Perfect!!
My absolute favourite moment from the movie.

Re: Jurassic World

Yes and I know it's kind of an easy target but come on Genisys. A "family" movie like Jurassic World whose only real "plot" is "dinos run amuck on an island...again" and they STILL found crazy new ways to wow us? And, like Terminator, they took "bad guys" from the first film and, well, made them "less" bad and did it in a way that was still cool and frightening? Shame on you Genisys.

Totally. This could have been the CORNIEST movie of all time but they freaking nailed all those moments. I even got a wave of excitement when

the one remaining Raptor charged Indominous in slow motion.
Soooo corny but I wanted to stand up and cheer. :lol

They pulled out all the stops, could have struck out embarrassingly but instead hit a homerun.

In time it will most likely be one of the best and most iconic scenes across the four movies.

What I liked about Blue saving the day was that as good as it would have been for Rexy to save the day independently, having the two of them take the I-Rex down reinforced that fact that she was indeed bigger and stronger than any dinosaur and justified the whole reason for her creation.

Amazing scene, but the Rex would of eaten her in a heartbeat. She was practically standing under it when she decided to turn and run.

Yes she was part Rex and part Raptor so together they forced a stalemate...until they got a little help from an aquatic friend.

:)

Re: Jurassic World

I have to say I thought Jurassic World was laughably awful. :lol

Chris Pratt was good, but didn't have great material to work with. Bryce Dallas Howard was as rigid and severe as her haircut. The two boys would've been better if they hadn't been given an awful script to work with.

CG has seemingly not been improved in the twenty some-odd years since the original Jurassic Park. Sadly, there's only one animatronic, which admittedly was superbly done, but the film really suffers for a lack of sense of living, breathing dinosaurs - with the exception of the Indominus. You can tell that's where the budget went. The last shot involves a specific dinosaur, and it looked straight out of a video game - worse than any of the CG in the original film. I just don't get it! This is 2015.

Sure, there were a few great moments mixed in there, but overall the film was ridiculously over-the-top, and does not warrant a second watch.

J/k... over-the-top it definitely is. Then again, so is the premise. I don't think I've ever seen a 'serious' dino movie. Does the new Godzilla count? 'course I feel asleep in that. Twice.

Yeah, this one got a lot of applause at the end. I would have been pissed if I payed money to see an over the top dino movie and it wasn't...an over the top dino movie.

Re: Jurassic World

I thought this movie got a lot of bad reviews? Did it?

Really curious how this one does. Not that I'm any hurry for another Jurassic -- I think we've had enough and this would be a good one to end on.

But I can see... Jurassic Universe.

Jurassic Park in space.
