Why on earth would you buy something you didn't like the first time? Are you that desperate to spend your money?

Didn't say I didn't like the movie I said I was so disappointed. We all have many movies in our collection that we might not love but are fans of the franchise ie. Predators, SW Prequels, crystal skull, on stranger tides etc

I had the Wal-Mart tin lunchbox in my hands but decided I would get better use from the 3D version instead. I'll be watching that tonight!

Picked up two gift sets and two lunch boxes at Wal-Mart today.

Not expecting the gift sets to be sold at Wal-Mart I pre-ordered it. I got my shipping notice yesterday so I'll end up having three. Not sure what I'll do with the third, possibly just return it. I also pre-ordered the Best Buy t-shirt and it's on route.

:rock

$27 aint bad, means lunchbox was $7

Same here

Hell, even Fury Road improved a tad bit at home, still have Spectre and the "big one" to go.....what an exhausting year it has been.

2016 will be even more exhausting! :thud:

Picked up my copy yesterday at Wal-Mart. I would of went to Best Buy but had no time. Bought the collectors tin since I thought it was cool.

Movie held up on 2nd viewing. I really enjoy watching this. Schmaltzy ending.

I can't say the same. My problem is I love the Jurassic Park franchise so I want to be a fan of this movie, but for some reason I cannot!! There are elements that are so beautiful (i.e.. Hammonds dream of the park) but most are just stupid ideas...

The made a monster movie in a franchise that we kept for dinosaurs!

Still the best sequel though.

Sorry I have to disagree.

It’s funny watching this a second time last night there are so many points made by characters on how “this is a stupid idea”……and they made the movie anyways!!! Even my 8 year old son made a comment about whats wrong with the older brother. The guys such a downer it effects my viewing pleasure. Why would they write that into the movie???

Right after JW ended for me in the theatres my first thought was "JP3 was better"

Bo, you have to part with your idealize mindset of 'Jurassic Park'. It was a cartoon also. You must have seen JP at a very impressionable age when you cared about dinosaurs. Although the dinos are used to grab your imagination, the premise of the movie was always about "toying with genetics and nature" so the logical evolution of that is a 'genetic monster' based on dinos.... I'm surprised it took 4 movies to hit that beat.

The only difference between the movie's tone is that one is directed by Spielberg and one is directed by Trevorrow. But I do think Trevorrow did a very good job of emulating Spielberg in his hey-day best he could.

That said, yes there are some overly schmaltzy parts and silly parts, etc. So yes, JP is clearly the better movie. But this is the best sequel and, to me, a lot of fun.

It is the best sequel . You could watch the first and this one back to back without knowing 2 and 3 existed and be fine. I mean you may be confused by ingen but that's about all I can think of.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

If I had to pick only 1 to own obviously there is no question which it would be, the clear choice will always be JP1.

But as sequels go I had the most fun with JW.

JP1 was thought provoking and fun.

JW was fun.

I really enjoyed JW. It has it's issues in some areas (as do even the very best films) but it has some great moments in it and works well as a big and fun summer blockbuster dealing with the dark side of genetics.

It's unfair to compare JW to the first JP simply because when JP was released I was a 6 year old boy who loved dinosaurs seeing them all on the movie screen for the first time. When I saw JW I was a 28 year old adult with personal and internet expectations on my mind.

JW is a solid 8/10 for me! :D

Yup I just enjoyed it as a film of geneticists taking it to the next level and trying to turn it into a profit on a grand scale. Mindless action in the middle and an ending that has set the stage for a sequel. It's the same formula most action movies use nowadays. :lol
