Here is some advice to people in the UK.
Don't use PaYPal (yes, that's right ) and don't use a Debit card only a CREDIT CARD. And pay for the Item in full.

ABC are very good for pre-orders, I have pre-ordered 9 preds with them in
the past and never had a single problem.
I've never minded paying abc months in advance and sometimes it works
out for the best if the AUD drops, I dont have to pay the difference.

This thread gives me the creeps:lol.

I pre-ordered 4 figures from ABC-Express but now my ebay account is suspended. However i asked ABC if this was a problem and they said that it wasn't a problem at all and that i don't need to worry. They would send me the figs as soon as they arrive.

Damn, I pre-ordered Dutch from ebay, because I thought that's what a lot of people do and then a week later this thread appears and everybody says: never pre-order from ebay :monkey2
Did anyone buy from toy_and_game station?

I'm referring to things like the Predator 1 figs and Termiantor Salvation figs being pre-ordered on eBay which arent due for release till about May - that's a really long time away and I'm sure by that time your 90 day (or however long it is) protection with Pay Pal doesnt cover that far.

Also as far as I'm aware, these sellers are breaking eBay rules by making it availalbe for pre-order too early - they are only allowed to pre-order stuff within 30 days of release date?

Has anyone had an y bad experiences before wher they pre-ordered months in advance and never got the item or the seller "forgot"? This is the only thing that would make me hesitate about pre-ordering on eBay months in advance although you can get some good prices.

This is my one pre-order story, only time I ever did it and probably the last.

Hot Toys Batmobile pre-ordered in July 2008 from the CHINA store I had purchased the HT Batman.

Item delayed and delayed and delayed, I don't even think it's out yet and it's March 2009!

I cancelled around December 2008 and was lucky that the store credited me my money after he tried to talk me out of it for awhile, it took alot of begging on my part and the he forced me to pay the Paypal fees or no refund so I lost like $35.00-$45.00, don't remember anymore.

Hope that helps.

Thats another reason why they're not supposed to sell pre-order items more than 30 days from release date - it fucts up the whole fees thing.

It's not safe pre-ordering figures on eBay. Do not do it.

OK guys, sounds like the bottom line is: don't pre-order from eBay unless the seller is ABC-Express. Cool.
i agree with this. i've also ordered from Goodshipped as well and he delivered as promised.
~~however, i'd only recommend doing this if you want to pay it off now while you have the funds and/or need to be the first guy on the block with figures.

I have pre-ordered some HT stuff with goodshipped on ebay - including the HT TDK Batman and the Batpod, had no issues, very good communication

yeah he was very quick and informative with his product updates. he also refunded me money without hassle. only problem i had was sometimes his english wasn't that great, but it wasn't anything major as he always replied quickly if something needed clarification.

My transaction was with "Sweet Castle of Toys" in CHINA and they delivered my HT Batman fine, it was with the cancelled Batmobile where things got scary and like I said, I was very fortunate to get my refund even with the $35.00 to $45.00 loss, whatever it was. It took alot of begging though....lol...heck, I would've sent him a home baked Pumpkin Pie if I had to!

I for certain thought I would be losing the entire $590.00 so a loss of $35.00 was a blessing!

Why pre-order on Ebay when you can just pre-order from SS...your better covered through them. Even if the item sells out on SS, you still have a pretty good change of getting it by throwing youself on the waitlist soon enough. I never pre-order anything from ebay...they only time I might consider going that route is if the item is out of production.

Coz their shipping charges are through the roof for us in the U.K and stuff seems take an eternity to arrive...
Only good for exclusives i'm afraid...

this man has a good point. unless you have to get the exclusive or need to apply reward points i recommend going on ebay or some of the online dealers to get stuff. sometimes the small change adds up once items start batching together when they start shipping.

The batmobile was cancelled?

I ve used ABCExpress,Goodshipped and Studio Sunny at various times on pre-orders and the service i ve received from all three has been second to none.Would and have recommended many times.

I suppose its up to the individual, check there feed back. some of these guys have over 1000 positive and 0 negative feedback, look at how many similar items there selling and the positive feedback for that. if some1 got screwed it would be all over there feedback

Part of my begging for my refund involved a promise of no negative feedback, even with me getting stuck with the paypal fees and I kept my promise.

At the end of the day, it wasn't that store's fault nor mine that Hot Toys kept delaying that damn car so as long as I was getting most of my money refunded, I wasn't going to negative feedback them.
