That's the artwork on the old Raiders of the Lost Ark Kenner board game.

Possibly. Since it was set in the 1930's, having a tall, dark leading man with a moustache wouldn't have been out of place.
Plus there is piece of concept artwork, which does suspiciously resemble Selleck more than Ford. Notice the dark hair and features:

I'm sure he would have kept his moustache but they would have probably trimmed it down from the 70's bush to a 30's pencil.

They reference that imagine a few times on the bonus disk from the boxed trilogy. Pretty cool artwork... really has that serial feel to it.

I'd seen it on the Indy dvds but I didn't know it was Jim Steranko. He did a lot of great Marvel comics in the late 60's.
