You're talking about fair, but want to accuse Sideshow of not doing their best to make sure statues are as safe as possible? I suppose then, even though Old West GR is the same scale as Modern, his box is alot bigger because they DIDN'T take into account that the box would get handled rough in transit. You're right. ;)

When did a few people on an online message board become the majority?

Bottom line is, you people want to blame SS all you want, but no matter how good you pack it if that thing is nudged/shoved/pushed/dropped with just the right amount of force, it's going to break, bottom line.

nah, the package for the old west is bigger because the pose is so different. the box being nudged and kicked has really nothing to do with it in this case. ss scraped the styrofoam because it wasnt big enough for the base. this then made the flames stick into the side of the foam. even just picking the box up would have broke these flames. i have the exclusive biker gr and the styro on that didnt close all the way either, but at least the base fit in its slot properly. i dont think we are being unfair in our dissapointment. out of 300 about 10% (30 so far) have been reported damaged. thats only from the people who frequent these boards. something aint right

yeah bro, thats what im talking about. add that number of damages up with the people on here and your talking about 10% maybe even more. for the price of this statue it should be mint

I got mine from Dark Shadows today and they had checked it for damage before they shipped it to me. Between there and here a small piece from the flames on his head was broken off, fortunately it was an easy fix. I have to agree with the decision to blame the shipping companies. Mind you, I've only had bad experiences with UPS, I've never had trouble with damage products with Fedex and the post office.

Add me to that list as well, I received a damaged Biker G.R. Excl. as well. Two of the flames on his skull were broken. No biggie though, I am returning him for a refund, after careful consideration I decided I did not want it anymore. I've been buying too much stuff lately anyway.

with flames this delicate, i think it would have been a good idea to support the statue in the styro at points that have no flames. in both my ghost ridders, there were flames touching the side of the styro. thats gonna break pretty easily. and i still dont get how both of my stryofoam didnt close at all. that means that when you pick up the styro out of the box you squeeze it tgether unintentionally that doesnt help to not break anything.

My Old West Ghost Rider will be here tomorrow! My modern Ghost Rider Exclusive arrived yesterday unharmed. :) I'm hoping the West Rider arrives in just as good of shape as it's modern counterpart.

My bro and i waited for a while since he paid by Flexpay and we received it broken :monkey2

It really doesn't matter whose fault it is. We are just pointing fingers here which doesn't solve anything. I just hope Sideshow has enough to replace the majority of this dillema. And hope that a lesson is learnt from all of this.

They've had some problems with packaging recently - no denying that. Almost the entire run of Roger Moore PF was broken.

But the packaging does undergo rigorous "drop" testing to help prevent things like this. People complained about how tough Greivous was to remove from the package, but I don't recall reading that a lot arrived broken. However it all depends on the factory engineering the packaging.

Add #51 to the list of broken flames on the base of Western GR.

It was a bad day for me and statues. I got the Dark Phoenix state from my LCS and her legs were detached from the base. At least with my LCS I know I'll get a quick exchange tomorrow.:monkey1

great pix.
I know Im in the minority here, but I actually prefer the regular edition with the GRs

just got mine today, broken in five places...im pretty upset. i paid a nice amount to get this and its all busted up. on statueforum they have a poll with who got a damaged old west gr. ..80% of them did. thats piss poor qc on ss part. any one hear back from customer service...this is unreal how some many pieces can be broken....i got both exclusives and neither of my styros would close tight or even come close(about an inch apart), ss needs to spend some extra time engineering their shipping practices or im gonna cut back big time.

Sorry to hear that. I would also be extremely upset if there was that much room in the styro for the piece to be broken. You would think that they would have specifically created the styro to fit the piece...

Don't worry SS always produces some extra non-numbered pieces in case they need to replace broken pieces. They just put a new number on the piece that hasn't been used yet and destroy the old piece that was broken. Then they just recycle the number from the destroyed piece onto another new/replacement piece.
