Both of my GR's arrived in great shape.

I think it's funny everyone likes to cry foul play on SS, when they're not responsible for how the boxes are handled during transit.

While I can agree that SSC isn't to blame how packages get treated once it LEAVES their warehouse, have you see the packaging the statues are shipped in? That was rhetorical. Of course you have because yours arrived in great shape.

Point is, with that much packaging foam to secure the statues, anything external to the statue's box, as well as brown outer box would have to go through both boxes, AND foam because the statue isn't gonna go anywhere inside.

Therefore, these had to have left the warehouse already in this condition.

Add 175 Western to the list.
Just got mine a few mins before posting before this. I thought I had gotten through unscathed, but had two flames break off.

I've had to return an item before but not because it was faulty shipping, but the actual PF (Connery Bond) did not fit with his base. They replaced it and I got an even better Serial Number. The returns folk are pretty cool, and i still like the Customer Service, but if there are this many returns/issues, it's enough to raise concern.

It sucks for this one cuz I got the exclusive especially for the base.

When did a few people on an online message board become the majority?

Bottom line is, you people want to blame SS all you want, but no matter how good you pack it if that thing is nudged/shoved/pushed/dropped with just the right amount of force, it's going to break, bottom line.
No one said we are the majority, but when about 8 of 10 people on a message board claim they have damage issues, what are the odds that this is only isolated incidents that by coincidense are happenning only to forum members?

By your logic, sideshow should just throw the statues in a brown box and forget about the styrofoam and reinforcing of packaging because theyre going to be "dropped, slammed, pushed, shoved" anyways right?

the Grievous PF was packaged very very well. Now why would sideshow go through all those lengths to do that?

Fact is, the packaging of the Ghost RIders doesn't compliment the way the flames were built in to it.

The Roger Moore PF had even more problems then Ghost Rider with a lot of returns. But these aren't leaving the factory this way, it's just some poor packaging engineering that allows the piece to get broken in transit. If they have to they'll redesign the packing to ship the replacements.

I think most of the problems are happening because of the way the packaged the base in the styrofoam.

They package it perpendicular to the styrofoam and the flames protrude outwards into the syro. Theres no room for the flames, they are already touching and any small displacement will put pressure on them.

Perhaps if they packaged the base flat with the flames facing the top cover of the styrofoam and used some sort of cut out around the flames and secure it with styrofoam pushing down against the middle of the base, it would prevent the flames from bumping against the styro. but this would call for a considerablly larger box...
