Exactly, it's best not to get involved, you might end up getting stabbed or shot for your troubles. I've seen and heard of it many times, a girl is being abused and someone tries to step in and the stupid girl ends up turning on the person trying to help. Idiots.

I hear ya. It would've pissed me off to no end, and I probably would have taken off just like you. But in the calm of things, police are the way to go.

No idea how a guy can hit a woman like that. I'd only do it if she was kickin the crap outta me.

I've learned anything from the past, NEVER START stuff or go off on anyone on they're own property. Whatever happens most of the time since its they're home they can do get away with anything.

Seriously, sounds like quite a scene to see. I imagine it would make most people very angry, but I think you did the right thing in calling the police. I had a similar incident where I looked out my office window when I heard yelling. Next to the street there was a woman curled in fetal position on the ground with a man standing over her. My first instinct was to go out there, but I figured calling 911 would be safer and more productive. It definitely gets the adrenaline and social indignation up.

The thing that goes through my mind is... what if this woman really needs help (as in, RIGHT NOW) and stepping in might actually save her life? Conversely, what if I hesitate or do nothing and she ends up very seriously injured or killed. I would never be able to shake the thought of knowing that I could very likely have done something.

Sure, it's not my problem and I could end up getting myself hurt (or killed) in the process. But when someone needs help, and you and have the ability to help them... you do it. Or maybe I just read too many comic books as a kid.

I agree, hard not to at least try to help...however gets my goat always makes me laugh. People must really love their goats!
