The Reynolds film was almost 90s-ish with the cheese.. so disappointing.

When I think of classic Hal - I think of Neal Adams' art. The Fass looks like classic Hal; whether he could be bothered playing a cocky test pilot is another story though.

Chris Pine would be cool too, as others have mentioned, for a more modern take on Hal.

I do agree with the 90s cheese. Thats what Green Lantern was, it was a 1999 cheesefest but i feel like it had some likeable moments, the scifi stuff and Hals constructs. But today, thats not enough.

If The Fass would be interested i would love him as hal, if they got the hair right LOL. Chris Pine Or Gossling would be good as the Flash i think.

Everyone keeps saying to follow Marvels recipe but my vision is just jumping right into the action, do somthing bold.

For Example , If Warners did the building, lets just say, Man of Still does well, then they fasttrack a WonderWoman or Flash movie, thats good but flops, Warners will pull the plug and well be right back to square 1 i feel like.

What do you guys mean by "90s cheese"?

The films was meh, that's mostly imo because it was stuck on earth and wasn't ambitious enough. I haven't seen it in a while but the opening was cheesy as hell but other than that i can't recall much cheese

Well i can only speak for myself but i liked the opening sequence with the scifi stuff, but in terms of cheese i mean just visually making it cool without any meaning behind it or subject matter. Like they show us Hal being a pilot "not following the rules" in a big sequence but what did we really get out of it? Know what i mean? I agree it needed to be more focused on the space drama and have a more ambitious story

To date my favorite portrayal of Hal Jordan was in DC:New Frontiers. I loved the "Right Stuff" flavor and the appearance of Chuck Yager as a role model.

I do, that's what i disliked about the avengers, it was visually cool but there wasn't much reason behind most of it.

The opening i meant though were the Dad scenes, those were full of cheese :lol

Oh yeah those Dad scenes...NOOOOOOOO :slap

Thats why Justice League has so to have some stakes, established characters where the risk is worth the gain and theres a cause worth fighting for!

The cheese is grated - right through the film, just like on a generous serving of spag bol. :lecture

Agreed, there needs to be moments that show they could lose or are losing otherwise there's no tension and excitment upon the victory. The Villain also has to be one they can't defeat individually otherwise the threat won't feel real enough.

Cap was average just like Lantern.

I dont think so man, IMO Cap had alot of heart at its core, Evans really gave it his all and i enjoyed the romance, the hyper period style and the look of the movie, the same cant be said for Lantern, wich was okay.

Totally agree. I heard the script they were working on had Darkseid as the villian, and that would of been steller since hes one of the biggest DC Villians out there that could really do some damage, but apparently the script flopped.
