Thanks. I didn't notice Walter's off-kilter glasses until the pictures were already uploaded *d'oh!*

I'm figuring out how to get better pics with my camera, which gives a better impression for how these look in person. Here are the underside of the watches. It wasn't really as bad as I thought it would be painting them up, thought if I were really **** about it I would clean them up a slight bit more.

I need to do the Back to the Future hoverboard and Air Mags one of these days, and don't look forward to all the careful detail they will require, though.

No, I'm using the same camera I had before, but I have a lower end SLR camera, and never bothered to figure out how to take images in low light without a flash until just now. I didn't even have a tripod until last week! I can't just point and shoot in low light conditions with this one.

Damn well it looks amazing! You can now triple your commission prices based on how great the new camera makes them look. You think Nathan's paint is really that good? Nah, I've seen it in hand...its all camera!

All of your recent work looks excellent, but I'm particularly jealous of that Walter...so awesome!

I finally finished off my Ghost with the Most, and took some pics. I used Rocco's sculpt obviously, some black military boots I had bought for another Ghostbusters custom I never got around to, a tie and shirt from Toy Anxiety, suit from D-Art Studios, stand from Evilface, and literature (not pictured) from gary23. As I posted earlier, I used small earth magnets to attach the arms, removing the stock forearms and dremeling down the stock arm connector. Fat pad are a couple of cotton b-a-l-l-s inside a small plastic baggie. I did a bit of stitching! Both to represent the bottom button on his shirt (since otherwise it wouldn't keep the little fat pad in place), and on the back of the paints a bit so that they would fit tighter--they are a bit loose unmodified. I kept the front of his jacket closed with a piece of tape, as I didn't want to do anything permanent that might not work (considered gluing some magnets in there, or stitching it closed).

This bastard took a lot of energy to get finished. Particularly the hair and the paint on the head. Regarding the paint, I actually painted him a flesh-toned color first, then colored the makeup over it, so it would better resemble actual makeup. You can see a bit of his actual skin tone sort of peeking through his ears. Similarly, for the black around his eyes, I noticed that in screen grabs it was actually more of a purplish tone, and a bit dull, so I tried to replicate that. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Could still tweak it in a few ways, but I won't. In fact, I really just finished it off so I could try to sell it, but this was quite an experience.

Looks great man... but how much of a pain in the *** are those watches to paint; I did 3 sets at one time and literally spent an entire night just on those ****ing watches :lol

Great job on that Beetlejuice. The proportions are perfect....Overall it looks like a top shelf custom

Thanks. I just realized I didn't really need it for my collection--after investing $200+ in putting him together, of course (over $250 if you include the red tux I didn't use). I'm actually actively trying to whittle my collection way down.

Yeah, when just the head and hands are $90 it's hard to come in under $200 even if you paint it yourself.

And that actually makes the full custom figures all that more appealing to me. If it's $250 or so plus 5 or 10 hours of my time (sometimes more), vs. $400-500 and 30 minutes max, with guys who can paint better than I'll ever hope to, and usually providing much better clothing/accessories, the latter has a certain appeal to me. I guess now that I've actually given all the custom work a real go, it just doesn't appeal to me in the way it seems to for guys like you and Elvis, who can be so prolific and not get burned out on it. In that sense, I can relate to some of those guys who got in over their heads, because it can get frustrating and extremely time consuming. I can't relate to their taking money and not delivering of course, but. . .

Selling your Walter too? anything else?
Yeah, they're both on eBay if you're interested. I'll be selling more in the future, but I just don't have the real energy at the end of the day to list more stuff more quickly.

It's true... when you think about the time involved in a project it can diminish the return. Just last night I probably spent a good 3 hours repairing a body, modifying a head, some feet and hands just so I could get to a point that I could start painting :lol

I enjoy the work and try to make time for it, but I've had certainly experienced and ebb and flow with it. And could see how it would be easy to get burnt if you had a pile of 30 heads you needed to paint for others. One of the reasons I limit how much I take on, if I can't get it back in 30 days I don't want it in my house :lol
