I just put some water on mine and started "styling" it a bit (I cannot believe I am doing all this with my dolly, by the way--I've got to be half a step from becoming a full-blown Barbie collector :lol ). Does make a tremendous improvement IMO. We'll see if it holds, or if I'll need to *sigh* apply some kind of styling gel material or whatever. I think my keeping it long was a good idea, as this is looking the way I want it to, at least on the sides.

Looks great, you did a wonderful job.

I'm still wondering why putting real hair on a sculpt is see barbie like.
TO me it's a word of difference.

Here you're achieving something way more realistic than any sculpted hair IMO. To me real hair when well done is the future of 1/6 and push the figures to something more realistic.

That's why its still seen as "barbie like", cause it's almost never done well. Just cause you and a couple other people can do it right doesn't make it all look right :lol

Awesome job kara! The styling went a long way to making it look better. A little weathering and he'll be perfect.

Well that is true but still doesn't make them look like Barbie.
At the end of the day real hair or not those are dolls and we are playin' with them, dressing them up etc... :)

HT Catwoman = Barbie.

Your Qui Gon or Galactic's/kara's Beatlejuice = not Barbie.

Its in the details :lecture

I think there is this fear that the wifey will walk in while you're brushing your figure's hair . Then you have to explain that you're not brushing the hair you are "futzing" it.

:rotfl

Thats ok but hard to justify the my little pony hairbrush:)
Great job karma looks really good:clap

looks great k. agree with others about the hair.............real hair looks great for some figures when done right. not all figures are meant for real hair but this one sure is and you did an awesome job.

That looks excellent man! You rocked it :rock

haha true also.

The problem with the material HT is using for hair is exactly like Barbie, synthetic and shiny.

Totally agree... synthetic hair almost always looks bad. When you see this lambs fur in person it's incredibly soft and thin strands so even when you take a close up picture it still looks properly scaled. The fake stuff always has very blunt thick ends and looks pretty bad.

Exactly :lol

I wasn't referring to the quality of the hair Elvis, but rather the fact that I'm using "real hair" at all. It's a "shades of gray" situation to begin with when, like Elvis says, you are putting "real" clothes on these guys, posing them, buying extra accessories, chasing the rare "Malibu Stacy" variants, etc. But when you start primping and styling the hair, that's just a whole other level :lol But yeah, it is all arbitrary at this point, and you guys are right. I guess my point is--I'm just starting to embrace the fact that whatever I collect or create is all good, as long as I'm into it. I was put off by the "real" hair initially (when I saw people doing it for Jokers, and Hot Toys doing it for the girl figures), but really Beto's figure convinced me that it could really work for certain figures, and I wouldn't have any qualms with them on my shelf.

And thanks for the comments. I think this figure is coming together nicely. The next frontier for me with this figure is trying to re-tailor his vest and pants!

Come to the dark side :lol

I haven't even touched the hands yet aside from priming them. I think that's gonna be kind of boring so I've been putting it off :lol

Same here. I actually need to get some gold paint first, or a sparkly finish anyway, so I can do the ring. I just bought some earth magnets a couple days ago, but got some slightly wider and thinner than the ones you ordered (1/4" X 1/25"), so we'll see how well these work.

I think the wider ones will be better... supposedly these are super strong, but the 1/8" are incredibly small :lol

Yeah, I was thinking about what sizes would work better, and reduce the amount of dremeling into the arm. I'm hoping that these will be thin and wide enough that I can just glue them on.

Yep.. that was smart. I guess when I ordered them I was trying to not buy anything too big, but went way to far in the other direction.

Still, they may work just fine but I haven't gotten that far in the project.

Sweet, I'll probably go ahead and order those as well. For $2 I'd rather have them and not use them than wait a few days for them to arrive if I do.

My suit should be here pretty soon so I can hopefully get cracking on that as well. The red tux is not my preferred look, but it's good enough for now :lecture

Same here. Just not as distinctive as the striped one, but honestly I'm not putting a lot of faith in that other project at the moment. Doesn't seem like it has a lot of official support behind it from the tailor.

I think it does... at least the Pennywise one happened. However, the price jumped up nearly 50% because of added pieces I could have cared less about :lol Oh well, I still figure I'll make decent money selling the Beto Pennywise so in the end it's no biggie.

But Betos pennywise is awesome! Keep him! You'll regret it just have 2 pennywise figures both are great!

Depending on how well pennywise suits sell depends on beetlejuice suit but I've got back up ;) I have 2 backup plans and I will make sure the price isn't as high as the pennywise suit.
