Sorry for the delay guys. I've been taking in a few people who suffered hurricane damage up here. Plus rubber is a ***** to cast sometimes.

So I was going over my list of projects with Chaka and I realized that I must prioritize. So I'm finally finishing my custom J'quille the Whiphid from Jabba's palace court. Here's the first version I did.

But the head was too heavy cast in resin so I cast it in foam to make it lighter and it came out like latex. Pretty easy and super fun to paint this guy.

Here's a few shots to show the improvements.

Next is body modification.

Yeah Chaka, I told you man! That's why I've made a list and focusing on 2 at a time.

As far as the body goes, I have a few scraps of white craft fur. I'm planning on glueing a suit to the SS Kanamit body which I bulked up with foam.

I also sculpted hands and feet for the big chap and am casting them in the moldable rubber. It's the same stuff I used for the Praji gloves.

Here's a few more shots. J'Quille has picked up some Rogaine. I've been adding white patches to the body piece by piece. Afterwards I'll stain them brownish.

About Chewie, I don't know... I've seen only two Chewbacca's that blew me away. I'm secretly (not anymore) hoping that SS will pull it together and make one that will satisfy my Wookiee needs. But maybe... If I did one it would be a Hoth Chewie. All snow blasted with optional goggles.

I saw a Muftak on here not too long ago. It was great. Anyone know who pulled that off?

Kash, Duane did a Muftak a while back. Im not sure where it ended up. I think maybe Feroze has it now.

You're right Chris! Of course it was Duane. Dude has crazy skills. That's right! he did the face to be added to a body. I wonder how furry figures hold up. To those of you who have custom Chewbacca's, How do they fare?

Furry figures to tend to shed a bit; but usually seem to hold up well.

What you're doing so far is amazing on this guy; I'm totally blown away by the sculpting

And on a related noted, you should totally make and cast up a Wampa next

On a side note I realized that all of the denizens of Chalmun's Cantina are revolutionaries, criminals and other assorted scum so they all should be packing. I ran out of gun belts so I've been making some. My buddy who owns a leather shop gave me a ton of scraps to between them and casted pieces from Bespin Han's belt... I'm making a few for the scumbags. Here's the beginning..

So I'm trying to work on two projects at a time to completion. The first is to finish J'Quille... and the second is my Sandtrooper squad. Pics of the latter to come. Here's some progress on J! I still need to paint the feet and cast some hands for him and paint his fur but overall I must say I'm very pleased.

He's a big guy! The head is cast in soft foam so it won't fall over due to weight. The fur is on there really well but patchy. After I paint him it'll look more like it supposed to.
