Ok, now I don't know which one to get...
I feel like the samuraï version is more accurate, Mifune was older in the movie RED SUN, and the figure really looks like him.
It seems to me that his face is too old on the Ronin version, if it's supposed to be from YOJIMBO.

But on the other hand, I prefer the YOJIMBO movie, so I don't know which one to pick:unsure:

I also feel like YOJIMBO was in black & white and the figure would look cooler in black and white too. So if I have to pick a colored figure, the samuraï is a better option because RED SUN was in color (hey ! to each their own weird expectations and OCD, ok ?:p)

I know there is not enough people interested in black and white figures. But for the Universal monsters also, I felt like it would be cooler (for me) to have black and white versions.
I have some Neca 7" figures in black and white for old movie figures.

Maybe you should get the black & white Mifune statue.

Unfortunately I'm not a huge statue fan. Too fragile, too cumbersome (with a big base that you have to use because the statue plugs in it) and you have to find a way to display it without the option to give it another pose)

Mifune played the ‘Yojimbo’ ronin character 4 times in his career. Initially in ‘Yojimbo’ & ‘Sanjuro’ in 1961/62 (B&W films) and then later in ‘Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo’ & ‘Incident at Blood Pass’ in 1970 (colour films).

Oh ok, I never saw the Zatoichi & Incident at Blood Pass, interesting. I guess i have more movies to watch^^

Z meets Y is just ok. IABP is kinda bad. If you’re starving for more Mifune, you’ll enjoy. Just don’t have high expectations. They pale in comparison to Kurosawa’s masterpieces.

I agree they’re nowhere near as good as the Kurosawa films but they’re still very watchable. I enjoyed ’Incident at Blood Pass’ way more the second time I watched it (having not been impressed on my initial viewing) and Zatoichi films are always fun.

My favorite Samurai Film is ‘Sword of Doom’. I’d love to see a figure of Tatsuya Nakadai‘s character from it.

Ah yes, Tatsuya Nakadai is another great actor. I really love Goyokin with him. Also Harakiri.
Goyokin is one of my favorite samuraï movie
